I also felt that the survey did not really allow me to express my opinion about the OTE. For me, I understand the idea of OTE’s. They add a uniqueness to the game that many others don’t really have. A unique memory. Like in WoW with the Opening of the AQ gates, I remember that clearly, but for the individual raids, they kind of mashed all together. So they add more unique and memorable experiences that can be related to the game. So I do not feel that they should be repeated outside of the date range that they happened. But, I do feel that they should have the events happen 2-4 times. Like say every 8 hours. That would give you a 3 times to make it.
For me the times were awkward because, for example Sunday, we have a family get together, not a whole lot of people, mostly my mother, grandmother and I, but it is so that my grandmother who is 92 can spend some time with her family. Happens every Sunday between 11:00 and 3:00. So for me the 12:00 PST is pretty much a non-happener. Stack that onto November 16th, guess what, I was at work. They kind of frown upon playing games at work. Hell, even if they did not or allowed it during lunches, we have a pretty decent firewall which prevents playing online games.
So if that weekened just happened to be one that I did not do anything out of the ordinary, I would have only had Saturday to play the event. Kind of a detraction for these OTE’s. So my personal recommendation would be to have the stages of the event happen mulitple times and have diminishing rewards for those who do the events multiple times. They still get a reward which will help draw people back, reducing the chance that one event is jam packed and others don’t have anyone, but the diminishing returns would prevent people from becoming uber loot gods.
