Fatality Error straight to desktop

Since Thursday December 11th 2014 I have been getting crashes to the desktop. only whilst playing GW2.

ran all tests to make sure it had nothing to do with my hardware and software ( drivers, virus exceptions etc..). System runs clean with no hitches unless I play Gw 2.

Ran other games to rule out CPU/GPU/MOBO overheating or faults ( memtest86+, superpi,)

ran full virus scan.

I have not defraged my disk just yet ( going to in 10 minutes to be safe).

The error I receive is this ( I have submitted this twice now to Anet)

Gonna try and just turn shadows off – I was running the game at low shadows with no issues since launch date of the game.

Anyhoot, I added the game to the exception list on all locations for AVG virus protection.

Thanks and take care. I’ll keep up to date on this. Really sucks that I can’t join in on the Winter fun! Oh Also did a clean re-install of the game a few days ago. yesterday was the longest I got to play ( 2 hours) before another CTDesktop.

I do have a feeling it might have something to do with the lions arch story finishing? this is also happening to someone I know as well on their own PC.

Hello there!

I will start off by stating I am using windows 7 64bit fully up to date alongside Kaspersky anti virus suite with the appropriate firewall exceptions and whatnot. All drivers (including MOBO) are fully up-to-date and I do not overclock anything. I have not tried a full reinstall just yet, but Guild Wars has been giving me a critical error message with the option to send a report ( which I did) then it would restart the pc.

I have played other games and used other software with the PC with no issues whatsoever. This just started happening yesterday after 15 minutes of gameplay with Gw2.

Hopefully this can be resolved somehow. I will attempt a re-installation of the game and report back if that has helped in any way.

Game crashing on autodetect settings

been having the same crashing issue (had the game since launch now, no issues) – seems that the latest patch has caused hiccups with the game. atleast BL2 works for ya , I am playing the same game in the meantime ( not advertising another game…just I can’t play Gw2 for now )

I have the same issue unfortunately. 3 times I would receive an error with GW2.exe – then I would submit the report. Afterwards the pc would restart on it’s own. All my drivers are up to date. I will try a reinstall as well. Hope it works out for you!
