When I first read about the move to megaservers I was thrilled honestly. I always felt it was a random occurrence to run into another player in the field, I like to see a more “alive” world now. I did however experience the downside this past weekend, boss zerg train. I honestly didn’t even realize what had happened, I was just going through an event chain in the Harathi lands and before you know it there are about 100 people just pounding on this world boss. He was defeated without much trouble really, think I died only once and after that all was well. Sure it was nice to get some loot that did not even help me out(like usual), but the challenge just wasn’t there. When I fight a boss of that magnitude I want people to die, not just sit back, spam a few skills and call it a day. Please bring some challenge to PvE as right now its a pretty mindless zerg fest.

Honestly with the mega servers now I wouldn’t mind some serious MEGA events. Why not have the actions and outcomes of one area spill into another area? I remember reading an article before the game came out describing undead attacking a village, then the village falls and if you didn’t do anything they would keep marching on ect.

Why not create event chains that affect several areas at once? It would involve people of wide level ranges, create a broader content area instead of farming the same chain over and over, and also add some immersion to the world.

Lets say some centaurs start attacking in kessex hills. You don’t beat them back? they take a small stronghold with some veteran and champ mobs. They hold it for a while? they start sending raiding parties to attack villagers and neighboring areas. Hell if it got bad enough maybe we could see some NPC vs NPC battles happen. They wanted to make a living world, I think its time they step up their game and make some “world” sized changes for once.

It would be nice to get that WvW feel (towers, camps, castles) in PvE with certain areas having capture able hard points for NPC’s and players. Most of the time out in the world it feels like nothing is happening, just the same old stuff. I want to see people running in fear from a horde of enemies approaching, villages on fire from a large raid, things like that.

As an avid PvE’r myself I enjoy seeing more people out and about in the world. I will say this however being in queensdale for more than 10 minutes just makes me laugh at all of the crazy, over the top gamers who blow their stack when someone kills a boss outside of the “train”. For someone who has been away from the game for a very long time I didn’t even know what this “train” was, I realize now why its there and some adjustments need to be made.

My understanding is that these trains happen because the events are on a set timer thus making it easy to bounce from one to another. Why not “shuffle” the order of the events every day or every couple of hours? Just for example purposes lets say there are 8 boss events, the game picks only 4 of them to be active for 12 hour timeframe, activating at 3 hour intervals. This would allow us PvE people to enjoy bosses, would bring large groups together, but place a large enough time gap between events to help eliminate the train.

I think the megaserver rollout was for the better, however it needs some tweaking. I personally do not like the set in stone schedule for events, because I always miss the big ones due to what time I play.

Thoughts?

All of those lost weapon skins....

I suppose its a penalty for not playing the living story when it was around, however looking through the wiki I am sad to see all the weapon skins I will never be able to get. All of them require black lion claim tickets which drop so rarely in lion chests it would cost a considerable amount of money to be able to unlock even one ticket.

I recently opened 25 lion chests and only received 4 ticket scraps, not a great return rate. I totally understand that it was my choice to miss out on the content but man did I miss a lot, would be nice if there was still a more reasonable way of obtaining these items.

Perhaps introduce the ticket scraps as drops to all mobs with a very low drop rate? Would take a very very long time to unlock them all trying to collect enough scraps to create tickets. Just disappoints me seeing a really cool skin that I likely wont be able to get any time soon.

With the festival coming (since I missed it last time) do any of the mobs drop the ticket scraps, or just specific drops to the items available for that content?

Jerky sound with new graphic card?

My first thought is that motherboard does not support PCI Express 3.0, it operates on a much older version, this could affect the potential processing power of the card as it cannot communicate fast enough between the game and hardware.

My other thought is it not getting enough power, what is the PSU rated for?

Also what do you mean by “connected directly to the power supply”? How is it connected now?

How about some expansion into the jungle, or north to the isles of Janthir, hell even the desert or northern part of Elona. So many opportunities for some great areas to expand on.

For someone who left the game for a while (me) I came back to pretty much the same game with a few zone changes, but missed all of the content. I understand they wanted to reward the loyal players, but I don’t think the people who wanted to take a break should miss out on EVERYTHING. I came back to Lions Arch destroyed and a tower busted up in Kessex Hills….fantastic. I still enjoy playing the game, I recently found a resurgence in interest, but I feel they really detracted from “adding” to the game. Temporary content patches are a nice occasional thing, but why not tie those into a new area? just doesn’t make sense to me.

I agree with new areas for sure. I think for every other or possibly every third release they give us a new area. This should give them enough time to build a new explore able zone, doesn’t have to be huge, just somewhere else to go. It amazes me how much of the world map hasn’t even been touched yet, they have so much room to expand, and after being around for a couple of years, all they added was solsthsun cove?

I also wouldn’t mind some lower level dungeons in the 20-40 area, possibly even lower. I understand the rewards would not be as significant due to you leveling past them quickly, however why not reward some new skins, or black lion tickets to purchase the ones we missed?

However the one thing I miss the absolute most about GW1 is the flexibility in skills, why they changed it over to what they do now is beyond me, as I think they had a totally unique system. I feel the system now is a bit limiting, with most classes focusing around the few popular builds. More utility skills, or new weapon options for some classes would be fantastic, although a rather large project to implement.
