a lot of the armor, in fact, almost all of the armor in gw2 is extremely bland, and considering how many people play the game, sooo many look the same, the only real way to stand out is to use armor that looks goofy, because nobody wants to wear the goofy armor.
maybe bring in some more options, be them more choices for dungeons, dragon armors (from downing dragons, or world bosses) more TP skins, bring in some TP skins from other games maybe, like Aion, Aion has extremely intricate and flashy armor, that i’m sure a lot of people (including me) would love to see in game. i’m just tired of looking EXACTLY like everybody else. not enough options.
so here is my thought, dragons are rad, they obviously took a lot of effort for the game creaters to make, and right now they kind of sit at the same level of difficulty as the lesser master bosses (i.e sb, maw, golem etc.) so, I say, give some kind of reward for doing the dragons, showcase your pride for the biggest and baddest monsters in the game, Dragon Armor is a great way of going about it, not just “kill the dragon get a piece of armor” do it kind of like dungion armors, when you kill a dragon, you get like 60 dragon shards, and it takes like 300 to make a piece of armor, that’s not out of the question for casual gamers (I find myself mostly logging in to do dragons because I think they are cool) and it opens up a way for players to get more armor (because cosmetics make this game) design the armor after its respective dragon, give it PARTICLE EFFECTS! armors in the game are missing particle effects, lets change that. anyway, that is my idea, and I think it would be awesome, I would love to carve some pieces off of the shatterer and wear them as armor (with an awesome electric particle effect INTACT and hardcore) let me know what ya think.
honestly, dyes in this game are kinda boring, and there are very few armor animations outside of like the lightning effect with “bolt” equipped, and I don’t really count that.
so my idea kinda implements things that are already in the game and applies it toward armor, like make the “twilight” and “sunrise” skin effects available as a dye for armor, so your armor can be sky or cosmos looking, this could also open up a realm of dyes that could implement other animation effects, even if it is just a pulse or shine, it would not be difficult to add and puts a lot more flavor in existing pieces.
also you could add “auras” and give the same dragging effect that said items have.
just a few thoughts hoping to spice things up a bit, because I often find myself board with the common look.
