Also taking a screen shot of the whole party does not help. If you get kicked you still dont know who sugested and who confirmed the kick.

So should i report 4 persons just in case? Further what can an Admin do about it if he gets a complaint, usually there is no sign of a problem or that sort in party chat, even if they save them somehow.

No what we realy could need is that reward is spread out more evenly between he fractals and the last chest should primarily depend on your participation in previous fractals. So if you get kicked you get more loot of a better chance next time you finish all fractals.

Still you should still be able to talk to them after getting kicked. Right now the factal kicks are getting out of hand and im kinna forced to run only parties without 2 players from the same guilds or host them myself. Being able to see who kicked you at least gives you some options and the other something to worry about. At least id like to know who kicked me and who confirmed it so i can put them on a personal blacklists. Its realy a shame that they can do it without any consequences.

Transmute items to chars that can't use them

As far as i see it there is no way to move an acended stats item to another character. Yes you can move the skin with a transmutation stone but that still does not give me my acended bow back. Maybe the next patch will resolve the issure till then ill keep the bow.

Still the question stands why not prevent users to transmute items that their class cannot use. From a developers perspective you have to be aware that some people like me will occational (or hopefully exactly once) will screw things up.
These people are definatly not happy and will call the support witch means more work for you Anet!

Well i tranmuted a lot of items and in most cases one of the used items is already soulbound .. so no chance to fail here. However once trasmuting items gets common for you one tends to ignore the rather small red notice in the the transmutation window .. and that what happend to me…

Also Zeivu a splitter will give you 2 soulbound items so it does not realy help at all.

Im reporting this as a bug since it clearly cant be intended.

If you accidently transmute 2 Items on the wrong character, like in my case a crafted zojja longbow by and engineer and a fractal long bow, you end up with a soulbound longbow even if your current class cannot use it -.-

Unlike when you soulbind an item there is no additional checkbox for soulbinding or a note that your class cannot use the item!

My advice is to make it impossible for a class to soulbind armor or weapons that it cannot use. Further i sugest that the combined item is only soulbound when one of he used items was soulbound. These changes give players no advantages in the handling of souldbond items but make it actually harder to screw up.

In my case the bow now serves as a personal reminder of what poor game design can do until i get into the mood to craft another bow.

If you ask the customer support they will tell you that they cannot unbind items, but like in my case may offer you to replace at least 1 of the transmuted items. So in the end i kept the fractal skin and thus lost only a newly crafted zojja bow … with a few misclicks.

GW2 Broken by Design - Problems and Proposals

Hi Everyone,

GW 2 became less and less playable in the last few month. Lately me and my Guild cant even do the group events anymore as you’re stuck in overflow and get a “this world is full exception”. This also includes WvW.

Even worse the game crashes constantly with the same reproduecable out of memory error on major events like jormag, tequatl, shatterer and you greater raging WvW mob. You basically just need to gather enough people in one place to make it crash.
Now if you log on after a crash you’ll likely end up in the overflow and your event is gone.

If that isn’t frustrating enough you might want to do a dungeon. Here i get greeted by a lot of lag spikes that basically decide on dead or life for your character on high level fractal instances. Dungeons in general being the worst while the remaining parts of the world including the dragon events are basically lag free.

Now to the technical part:

The lag is a problem with the servers load and different priorisation of dungeons on the servers side. Note this is not a connectivity problem on the client side, i do have a good and stable ping to the network node just before the server. You can get the game servers IP Address from your firewall and trace it down. The servers don’t respond to ping requests directly though. If you have a second monitor you can constantly ping the networks node to see if you connection is to blame.

Next to the client: I do have a 2 Year old PC and play on nearly the highest settings. You can always lower the texture quality to delay the out of memory crash but it still happens and i don’t want my game to look like GW1.

The problem here is that the game generates a character model for each participating player. As more players participate in the events and have a more diverse gear so the game needs more internal memory to display them.

Next issue is the sound. Most events produces more sound than the 64 channels of my sound card can handle. It is ok if some sounds (including my weapons) effect are dropped. But right before the out of memory crash i get a rolling sound, like a sinus curve, that may indicate that the game has some problems to manage audio.

The out of memory error is nothing special. I already got enough of that modding Skyrim. Basically the GW2 executable is a 32 bit process that can theoretically allocate a max of 4GB for its own process. On Windows the limit is usually around 3GB or 2GB depending on the executable . Now if any application including GW2 hits the boundary and tries to access the memory behind the operating system registers an access violation and shuts down the program the hard way.

Now to the solutions:

Concerning the lag, only an improvement of the servers or efficiency upgrades of the game code can change that. I play mainly after work in the time 17 -22 PM where the majority of players is online anyways.

Maybe Anet should add new Servers and an option for a whole Guilds to change a server. This should make a distribution of players from full servers to a less crowded one more easy.

The out of memory crash is literally impossible to patch. Unless an application has an extended own memory management and is aware of the used memory. In this case the game can force the unload of unused assets or swap high res textures with lower one. I also encourage the developers to check the sound queue again as it may contain a memory leak as well.

The most basic and annoying solution is to restrict the number of players on each map even further as less characters mean less memory usage. However this make the overflow problem even more dramatic.

The second and best solution for the players is a native 64-bit client. Not only will they get a performance boost but the out ouf memory crash will be gone completely as well. I hope that the devs at least consider this solution. BTW if anyone would use a 64 bit clients one should be able to raise the number of players per map again.

Thank You!
