The move changing the booster slot to a seasonal item really was a poor choice. It will overshadow the positive changes for many players.
How to remedy: Reinstate the booster slot and make the seasonal item a + item. Keep everything else the same.
I’d like this a lot better. I love the celebration boosters, and magic finds are always good. It might be better to revisit the boosters and just revise what drops if nothing else. I have an entire bank tab of boosters, most I’ll never use, and I’d still rather have a chance at the couple boosters I WOULD use than get a ToT bag.
And what about putting the primers back in? I’d buy a crap ton of keys if I had a chance at a primer instead of a Tome or a Bag. I won’t buy primers outright, but I used to buy bags just because I had a good shot at primers and scraps.
Dulfy said duplicate account bound items are now replaced with a key if they show up again—I’m hoping that’s true because that would be the best change you made. I had so many account bound ravens and owls I quit buying keys because I got tired of deleting them.
Amalgamated Gemstones, petrified wood and bloodstone rubies, +1 agony infusions and lesser/vision crystals would be wonderful.
I agree with the scribing stuff, too. I’ve actually put off learning scribing because I can’t store the materials and I’d rather sell them than clog up my bank/inventory. If scribing storage was included, I’d actually DO it.
Tbh, I’d really rather not have a ton of slots added, just practical ones. Every extra slot is one I have to wade through while looking for something. So crafting materials that only have ONE use, like the box of funs for the legendary, I don’t need slots for. Yes, I’ll toss them on a lesser used alt, but I’d rather not scroll through them when I rarely use them. And once you add those, you need to add dyes for the legendary staff, etc.
Just my two cents…I’d appreciate a tab on the equipment panel for endless tonics as much as better storage for materials. They’re bound once you use them anyway…so why not do them like the mini-pets and give me THOSE bank spaces back? Plus, then I’d have a great list of what’s available.

Yeah, not like I am looking a gift horse in the mouth or anything but almost every chest I have read about today listed a tot bag. Really, you can get one of those easily during the festival or buying them off the TP. Am I the only one who will not use my key until next week? I assume it will revert to a normal chest after the festival is done?
Will chests opened during wintersday include a wintersday present as one of the 3 items? Yikes!
Not almost…They ALL have a guaranteed ToT bag. You don’t get 3 slots of items, you get 2 slots and one guaranteed bag. And yeah….Wintersdays will have a guaranteed present. So…socks, anyone?

I don’t think it’s greedy, I think it’s a waste of your gems.
If you buy 25 keys/2100 gems, that’s 84 gems per key. MOST of the bags are 3 item bags, which means you are paying 28 gems per ToT bag item. 28 gems is 6 gold if you sell them outright. 28 gems x 25 keys is 700 gems you’ve burned for nothing, or 150g you could have had selling those gems.
On top of that, I tried 28 keys, and got crap. Only 3 or 4 keys gave me 4 item bags. I was hoping for the unsellable ghoul skin, but instead I got more unsellable bank/merch expresses/tomes after I have perma ones and stacks of tomes sitting in the bank. My only “good” item in all that was ONE black lion ticket and a few scraps.
I like that theoretically the chances of a Black Lion tickets are better, but I hate that there are more exclusive account bound items you can only get through gambling. I’d really rather have celebration boosters or magic find boosters, and a chance at a node, and some kind of guaranteed value for my keys rather than getting 4 in a row with a ToT bag, a merch express and a tome. And kitten , at least make it a CHANCE for a ToT bag, not a guaranteed slot thrown away for a useless item.
I really don’t like this. Sometimes I think I like a skin, and since they’re limited time, I buy them and bank them until I’m ready to use them. Then, in a couple months, I realize I didn’t really like it that much, so I sell it. With bound skins, I won’t buy as many, because if I change my mind later I’m stuck. That means I’ll buy less keys overall, because unless I beyond love a skin…I’m not going to bother. Thank God I don’t love any of these!!

I’ve played Ranger main (open world, dungeon PVE and WvW) since beta. I personally like using a bow as one of my primary weapons. While I understand people are finding their comfort zones in melee rangers, and I don’t mind playing mine melee situationally, I chose a Ranger because I wanted to play an “unparallelled archer”. My bow does not have to be the best Ranger weapon—it just should be solidly viable. I’m with the OP in that I’m miserable on my Ranger right now, and I can’t find a build I like because…I didn’t choose an archer so I could play a sword wielding melee class. And while I can still play with a bow, the quality of viable builds/gameplay is seriously not there right now.
And I know a lot of people are loving the perma-swift, but I personally liked RaO for the stability, and it was a pretty integral part of my play style. It was useful on jumping puzzles, escaping combat in WvW, and in sticky situations with too many slap-happy mobs. And now not only do I not have the stability to escape combat when necessary, when I get caught and locked into it, Healing Springs is buggered up. And being able to use RaO more often really doesn’t help make up for the lack of duration. If I’m trying to use it to get out of combat, in 60 seconds I’m dead.

Personally, my Ranger build is weaker than it was prepatch so I have a lot of the same feels the OP does. It does take more time to kill the same stuff than it did before playing exactly as I did before. Now, on the other hand, things die faster with my guard, warrior, ele, and thief using nearly the same builds. Given that the Thief d/d is as close as I can get to Ranger s/d, I’ve decided to main a Thief instead. I’ll wait for the Ranger to not suck again, but I’m not holding any hope. Done with that too. I loved playing a Ranger but done with it now.
And healing spring… that’s just a sack of suck right now.
This is exactly the experience I’ve been having, and I’m half hoping the Guard bow will be my new ranger. Otherwise, I’m going to be alt-hopping until I settle on a new main. This makes me very sad, I dread Tuesday updates for the next bad nerf, and I don’t enjoy my time in the game. If it’s not fun…why play?
For a game that champions “play as you want”, Anet sure is supporting the ‘stack or gtfo’ meta.

I used some Black Lion Keys today, hoping to get a few common items I needed. The current key rng include 3 mini pets that were originally for sale in the gem store, and that I purchased when they came out. Today I got one of each of the 3 pets from my keys, and they are untradeable because they are account-bound, and cannot be npc’d or mystic forged. This means that I got 3 items from the keys that have absolutely no value of any kind, and can only be trashed to regain inventory slots.
Personally, I would really prefer to not have items that have potentially no value included in the keys. I’ve always assumed clothing items (other than tradeable backpacks) are not included because a significant portion of the game population has spent gems to purchase them, and duplicate clothing items are the equivalent of item-specific transmutation charges. In the case of these minis, however, there isn’t even the value of a transmutation charge. If the trend to continue re-issuing pets via keys continues, could the devs PLEASE consider at least making the minis mystic forgeable? Then, even if I can’t use them, I can have a miserably small chance of getting something I can use, and not waste my keys!
