In PvE we do everything from costume brawl races to quickie dungeons to T4 fractals. In PvP we have our own Honestead Arena, which we use for daily achievements and monthly 1v1 tournaments. We enjoy building our gaming community together. And yes, we know Homestead is spelled wrong, but that’s the type of misfits we are. We’re a Honestead, a safe place for you to hone your skills. We accept players of all experience levels!

Guild History – Some of us started in Guild Wars 1 and have remained together ever since. We have always been a tight-knit group and we will continue to provide a comfortable and open environment for our members.
Guild Hall – Our level 69 Gilded Hollow is up and decorating! We have all major upgrades and are working on elaborate decorations. Check out our current Super Adventure Box project in the video below.

Roster Size – We have a strong core group, with 20-50 players on average during NA primetime. Total roster is around 225. We clean out inactive players every couple of months, but you’re always welcome back!
Weekly Events – We run a variety of guild events each week. These include guild missions every Saturday night. We host a 1v1 PvP tournament each month. Other examples of weekly events include: guild darts, costume tonic races, jumping puzzle races, Silverwastes & Dry Top farming, World Boss trains, raids, Dungeon/Fractal nights, Story Time with GW Lore… the list goes on.
Raids – We have some members who do weekly clears and others who have just gotten their first VG kill. We’ve got a regular HOME group going, and welcome anyone willing to come prepared and learn.
Promotions – We have 6 tiers of ranks for the guild, from Ambient to Legendary. Promotions are based on active participation, contribution, and friendliness.
Council Leadership – We are run by a council of members who were all promoted from within. You will not have to wait for a guild leader to be present if there is a problem or if you have a suggestion for the guild. No single leader making decisions on a whim.
Legendary Assistance – At any given time we recognize a stellar individual who is working on building a legendary weapon and help them along through material donations or collection events. The program started when a small portion of the guild secretly saved up enough gold to surprise a founding (all around good guy) member of the guild with the precursor Dusk. We have continued the tradition ever since.

The “centered on position” casting really played well into the Guardian philosophy of frontline support. It encouraged the Guardian to get in quick to mitigate damage. Consecrations offered lots of AoE support, but only when the Guard was positioned correctly. It felt personal and powerful.
Now with ground-targeting, it feels like I’m playing Elementalist. I’ve got my midrange AoE spells that I can cast from the backline. At least with the trait, you could specialize (!) into that ranged supporter, but the ground-targeting as baseline does not feel core to the Guardian philosophy.
These sound fantastic! Obviously balanced with CD’s, range, etc.
The idea of saving the Tomes for an elite specialization could open the doors for some neat utility options that replace your weapon skills, akin to Engi kits. Tome of Courage could be the healing skill (balanced, ofc). Then you have your Tome of Necronomicon (!) which gives more condition damage options, for example. It could give the Guardian more of a mid range, spell-caster feel, which is different than core or even dragonhunter specs.
PS “Cleric” would be a perfect name for Tome spec if it weren’t already a stat combo.
PPS Has Shelter been given a skill type yet? Consecration feel most applicable at this point, except for that whole ground-targeting thing.
Seriously though, a skill similar to rapid fire with less damage, but applied a cumulative 0.5s blind with each hit would be really cool. It would mesh nicely with the new break bar and blind-as-a-CC mechanics.
