I did a lot of searching for background on the characters mentioned here and didn’t really find any interesting lore or really any for that matter. So I thought I would use them to create an origin for my warrior.

Mya Barradin – Origins

Unknown to most, Lady Althea had a younger brother, Marik. Being of only 14, Marik was forced to flee from Ascalon by his father’s orders during the Charr invasion. Prince Marik fled west and eventually made his way to Lion’s Arch where he lived with Firstwatch Sergio until he became of age. At 18 he joined the Lionguard under Sergio’s command and aided in the fight against the undead forces. Not only did he eventually fall in love, but he fell in love with Reyna Sandor, a “sell-sword” Ranger who aided many heroes in the battles across Kryta. They had two sons who bore children of their own and eventually became grandparents and so forth.

Mya is a descendant of Marik and a brother of Kaz (a guardian known by his wild and unruly friends as Waggz). She is a warrior and one of the leaders of an elite guild knows as Legends of War.

Anyone have this happen to them yet?

I recently reformatted my computer (rolled back from 8 to 7 today) because I just couldn’t take 8 anymore.

Anywho,

I logged in, downloaded the installer aaaand.. nada.. so I read up on the forums that a solution was to rename the GW2Setup.exe to GW2.exe and place it in my /Documents/GuildWars2 folder.

Ran it.. loaded up about 3k kb and then stopped. Then I ran it as admin.. and now all the time it just says "Downloading 0KB (0KB/sec).

I thought for sure it was internet or firewall or something but actually.. its downloading. It is sitting at that downloading screen but the DAT file is growing.

This only worries me that when it’s done it wont allow me to login or show me the login thing.

That is quite similar to my idea and actually could be the other half of my idea. My idea is mainly the overall look of the items.. (size, curves, bits and pieces, all things very much like creature creation in spore). So if we put both your idea and mine together then It would be a very in depth skin creator

I know the skill bar is beautifully balanced, but how about a racial skill above the 5 skill that is there at all times. Like for charr it would be a short sprint on all fours. Asura could maybe hide underground for a brief moment. Humans could revive themselves from the downed state once per hour. Sylvary could have a regen. Norn could .. do.. something.. lol idk. I think it would be a good idea. It would be set for every race so you cant change it as it would be a race skill.

Also.. How about first person perspective when zoomed all the way in. That would be beneficial in some areas. Also gives it a very immersive experience.

Maybe players could also have a choice of their skin being sold for gold or gems as they choose as well.

I think skins are a great way to make the game fun and much more personalized. I have a great idea for armor and weapon crafting as far as skins go. This may be asking a great feat of Anet and the Guild Wars 2 Dev team, but I assure you that there is no MMORPG out there that would be better fitted for this.

So in the game “Spore” you can create any creature in almost any way you like. There are preset shapes and bits and pieces that you can choose from and there are a number of ways you can scale those pieces and parts. Imagine Crafting things in this way.

It would work something like this:

—There would be many parts and pieces you could create for an amount of resources. Then you would could shape those pieces and pace them where you feel would be aesthetically pleasing. Afterwards, you would save that newly created weapon as a skin and only as a skin.

—The skins would be saved in your crafting production so that you can create them again quickly if you have the resources to create it.

—The skins could then be sold on the BLTP to other players. Maybe even customized with a guild crest or your own personal crest.

I understand that this would be a huge undertaking but I think It would be an amazing idea and I would even help with interface ideas if needed. (As I have experience with Graphic Design).

All that being said, It would be a lot of fun for everyone.

When you unlock the guild armor and weapon merchants I have noticed that there are a limited amount of skins. There are no guild sword or guild greatsword skins as well as no guild hammer skins and so forth. I think It would be a great idea to add add the rest in.

Also there is a merchant that sells (nothing at the moment) for mystic coins, it seems. Whatever is supposed to go there could be implemented as well.

I play on a 27" iMac using the mac client and my colors could not be more beautiful than what they are. Its possible that you may need to check for updates or even check your color sync profile to see whats up. Wish I could be more helpfull.
