yeah ill give that a check tomorrow, but as i said previously, i ran crysis 3 on very high for more than an hour and far cry 3 with no issues, so makes me wonder how it could be a hardware issue. But i will definitely give it a try regardless.
I’ve been having this problem for a month now, i play for so long and usually when i encounter some content with some particle effects (combat with even just 1 mob or in wvw zergs) my screen blacks out and audio crashes and starts jumping and then 5 seconds later pc just hangs and i have to hold power button.
I originally thought it was a hardware issue or overheating but ive tested my rig extensively and i cant find a problem, cpu temp stays within 30-40 and gpu 50-60 degrees. I even went as far as to remove windows 8 and went back to 7 as i thought that the OS could have been the issue.
I’ve run other games such as crysis 3 on very high with no issue what so ever which leads me to believe that there is something specific with guildwars causing a problem.
The frustrating thing is i never receive a crash log as my pc completely locks up.
I’ve made sure i run the game as Admin and have changed the AA to aplication controlled, if anyone has any insight as to what the problem is could you please let me know.

XFX HD 7850 2gb
8gb ddr3 corsair Vengeance RAM
Gigabyte 990fxa ud3 motherboard
OCZ 600w ModXstream pro psu
Same issue here but my entire pc shuts down.
I’ve looked into my cpu and gpu temps, both are in the green, cpu 35ish and gpu 55 (under load). I also had some time away from gw2 and returned about a month or so ago. I had no issue like this before hand.
My system info is:
Xfx hd7850 2gb
Amd fx 6300 3.5ghz
Ga990fxa ud3 moBo
8gb ddr3 corsair ram
550 watt modular psu
OS- win 8 64 bit
Really don’t know what to do as I can’t read any crash logs as it completly shuts off.
This is with graphics both set to minimum and auto detect.
