Guards were lacking a viable condi weapon/spec more than they were lacking support. That said, Firebrand still has a TON of great supportive tools.

Axe is fine, and it synergises well with both firebrand and core guard traits.

They’ve been reworked though, and now there’s a third tome too. They’re hardly comparable to the old tomes anymore.

I’m probably a bit late to the party, but I have info for the thread. Yes, the commander insignia and inscription (exotic and ascended) are sold from the vendor right at the end of the DragonStand meta event. However, you also need the recipes for each individual piece of armor to craft it, but apparently they drop from noxious pods…
I havent seen any other mentions of these dropping from anywhere else, and they arent sold from the mastery vendors.

You’re better off stat swapping ascended gear once you get the insignia/inscription atm.
