I’ve had similar problems
It seems to me that when you have more then 1 person on this part of the story-line they also all get in different instances od the dungeon.
I’ve tried this for two days now with other people also needing this part and we always end up in different instanced versions.
Trying to find a group where nobody done it to test if works then is almost impossible
