PvE and WvW updates are well received, but the PvP forum is absolutely livid on just about everything.
No matter what you do, it seems you can never please that player base.
If GW2 was on Steam, any time anyone bought gems, Steam would get a percentage of that sale.
So the question comes down to simple economics: is it worth placing the game on Steam for the potential of a larger player base that will purchase gems (and share that profit with steam) or is it better to keep the current setup?
Which one will make more money?
Not so sure with above comments anymore. Steam has been hosting many F2P mmo’s lately and you don’t need to pay a cent for any of the P2W gear or P4C (Pay for Costuming) so how do they make money off of these?
Now, if steam was hosting the servers, that I can understand a bit, but many of their products are nothing more than links that download off game manufacture servers (at least from what I can tell; it seems Steam is very secretive about such.)
Never mind. Wiki was very good about explaining it:

Considering TERA recently went to steam and their player count EXPLODED once they did that, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Anet is at least in talks with Valve about the potential of doing this.
Personally, this update alone was worth the legendaries cancellation. This was a HUGE improvement to HoT areas, especially regarding to rewards and meta event chains.
THANK YOU!
Wolf:
Thank you for your response and the additional information. Currently added you as friend and wish to ask you additional questions in game before I apply.
Greetings all.
As the topic says, I’m a North American player (80 Guardian) looking for a guild. I look forward to working with the best and friendly people around me.
However, before you send me requests, applications, whatnot, I need you to know my current situation and if it will fill your guild requirements.
About me:
I’m a business owner in the trucking industry, specifically in the Over The Road (OTR) department. I’m away from home typically weeks, if not a couple months, at a time. However, whenever I get a chance, I try to be online whenever I can playing any game my phone hotspot can handle. Normally I try to be online twice a week; each day varies due to my assignments.
I am mature, friendly, kind, willing to help anyone in need, and focus on keeping the game fun rather than a chore, bore, and ignore the trolls. Sometimes I will just go off on my own (in-game) for just some me time, but the majority of the time I love hanging out with groups. I will throw my entire being into my character and protect my teammates at the cost of my life. Dying is part of the game for me and I have no problem being the sacrifice.
What in a Guild I’m Looking For:
-Maturity; too often in various games I’m involved in a guild/clan/whatever with immature brats.
-Understanding; I can tell you right now 95% of the time I WILL NOT be able to participate in any planned events due to my work. There is nothing I can do about it; my industry is too unpredictable, I’m sorry.
-Being Schooled; Even though I’m level 80, I completely soloed all the way up to 80 by exploration and doing quests. I need to learn how to properly fight bosses and do end game related stuff.
-Established Guilds; from my previous mmo’s, I was constantly guild hopping due to new guilds failing. If possible, I would like to be in an established guild that has been around a year or more. Website a major plus.
Because of my situation, I feel like I’m more situated for PvE rather than PvP. However, if a PvP guild is willing to have me, I have no problems whatsoever.
If you still have additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
EDIT: Character is currently on the server Stormbluff Isle.
