Still going on, as late as of 5 seconds ago at the time of writing this post.
This started a few days ago on my home server; Ring Of Fire [EU] and Desolation [EU].
Every single time I’m within the vicinity of more than 10 people, all of them running/using skills/generally just doing anything actively; I get some god awful network lag.
We’re talking rubberbanding all over the place, no one moving for a few seconds then just disappear since i just lagged too hard to update their location and general delays.
It’s so bad that shadowstep skills actually teleport me backwards since they take too long to activate!
I checked my internet with speedtest.net, pingtest.net; both to Frankfurt. I used the /ip command and tracert’ed it in cmd only to get perfectly acceptable results from all ends: see attachments
Is it because of the WvW tournament? Or is it somehow on my end? Help me!
I am happy to say that the solution Ashley offered worked! 1,5 hour of constant playtime and not a single fps drop! Thank you.
Hey there JarlyX! Thanks for giving us something to go off of right off the bat!
I took a look at your Speccy Snapshot and your RAM configuration caught my attention. This could just be an improper reading by Speccy, but from the sticks of RAM in your system your memory should be running at 800MHz but instead it’s running at 534,4 MHz. If you are comfortable with making changes to the BIOS, I’d recommend adjusting the settings to their intended values since the memory appears under-clocked.
Sorry for the late reply, I just got back from vacation!
I just clocked them to 800Mhz a piece, and while doing so the motherboard (which is told by default to auto-determine RAM timings) increased the RAM timings to 9-9-9-24 from 6-6-6-16. I also changed the voltage of my RAM sticks to 1,5V from 1,6 since the sides of my sticks has 1600Mhz, 9-9-9-24 1,5V written on them.
I unfortunately don’t have time to test them today, but I’ll get back and post a result on this thread as soon as I get my hands on some data!
After reinstallation of Guild Wars 2 overnight and further testing, it seems the drops now only occur with more people, never when I’m by myself. Reinstallation also seems to have reduced the frequency of the drops when with about <5 people, but with larger amounts, the drops are as frequent as ever.
EDIT: Scratch everything. I just experienced a few fps drops in Just Cause 2, but they were very rare. The drops are most prominent in GW2, so maybe that can help me pinpoint the issue.
Your graphics drivers are up to date, correct?
Yessir. Everything’s updated and fresh.

Another odd thing, this fps drop business is only limited to Guild Wars 2. None of my other games has this issue.
I cleaned thermal paste and reapplied with a new one I bought along with the fan, and when I check the temps while in the game, the GPU temperature is stable around 60 degrees celsius and the CPU is stable at around 55 degrees celsius.
Perhaps there is some other program running in the background that is taking up enough CPU to cause something like this every few minutes.
Sadly, no. My background processes are clean. Oh, and I also updated the drivers for my graphic card yesterday and that didn’t do any difference. Pretty frustrating not being able to play now that I have time =(

I’ve started getting fps drops ever since the Zephyrite update, but since I do not use this computer on a regular basis I can’t be more specific than that I’m afraid. The drops occur no matter what I am doing, even if I’m alone or with 20+ people, standing still or fighting.
They are happening very often as well, I’m not joking when I say they come every 1-1,5 min for about 4 seconds and then go away.
The sound also stutter during the drops, maybe that can help to locate the problem?
I am 100% sure that dust/overheating is the problem since I just changed CPU fan one week ago, and cleaned the computer at that time as well.
Here’s a few links for my specs, graphics options and AMD vision center options:
