Each time I play GW2, I feel a bit sorry for the magnificient world Arenanet created, it feels huge but underused. Also, players are going after their own thing/goal, but there’s no incentive for them to know their server (which major guilds ? rankings ? etc).
Here are my small suggestions to make the world more interesting. Some of them have already been made by tons of players so I’m not reinventing the wheel here.
Note: I am not asking for more content (dungeons, living story, fractals etc) or gameplay changes (balance, skills etc) !
- 1st person cam
- free waypoint transferts to home city for each race
- “last connected” display in guild panel (and why not in friend list too)
- PvE vendors get rotating stocks ie they wouldn’t be selling the same thing everytime
- rankings should be avaliable in-game. Why not putting physical leaderboards in cities ?
- ingame player profiles: freeform description + personal story description (which legion / personality ..) + some public rankings (like the ones we see on leaderboards.guildwars2.com).
- custom categories in friend lists (dungeon partner, wvw commanders/coordinators, pvp partner, newbie I’m mentoring etc)
- more rankings in PvE and WvW: Deaths per zones, kills per zones, “player of the day” in WvW (most captures, or most escorts).
- in-game notification for the whole zone when a player manages to get a legendary or some special, very hard to get achievmeent (The Emperor ? Map completion ?)
- donation pile for newbies (free items, only if you’re < level 25, everyone can choose to donate an item in addition to vendor / trading post / delete item)
- town clothes should be craftable (not exclusive town clothes like the ones in the TP, but some basic NPC-like outfits would be cool)
- ingame guild profiles (for example, when a guild caps a tower, i would like to read their name, their description and not only the guild emblem)
