Patience, grasshopper.
I think it’s really cool that this is intended to continue to play out over time. I understand wanting to see what’s next RIGHT NOW, but I can go off and do other things in the meantime. I think it’s good that there is time given for lots of players to experience the unfolding.
Edited to add: And the personal story is instanced. It can start over for each new character. The Living Story is taking place in the world. Those refugees need time to heal and then maybe they’ll share more about what happened to them.
You can easily see your party member’s hp. You can see their location on the map. You can see waypoints set on the map by party members. You can ping/draw on the map for your party to see. You get access to party chat, which is in a rather pretty blue. You can more easily see the location of a party member whilst in a zerg situation due to the bluification of their name.

The above captured my thoughts as well.
And I love that there are no strategic benefits to be in a group. I can strategize with anybody in the open world—no need to go through an artificial grouping mechanic to do it. I can chat with anybody, do combos with anybody, share kills with anybody and everyone still gets loot. This is something ArenaNet got right.
If you don’t like the no-strategy zerg, don’t do no-strategy zergs. It’s not the lack of an artificial grouping mechanic that creates them. It’s the lack of need for strategy that creates them. The fix is to add the need for strategy, not to add the need to type /join.
Jeffrey provided an update for affected characters in another thread today: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Did-Part-of-Your-Story-Get-Skipped-or-Changed-Post-here/276690
Thanks, Jeffrey.
I noticed this, too. During one event, I did nothing but heal and rez other players. I didn’t even get bronze. I got nothing even though the folks I was healing were clearly involved in the event.
Never again. Now I make sure I do as much damage as I can. It’s the only thing that “counts”.
Starting Guild Wars 2 gets you to the screen where you select a character to play. Instead of hitting the Play button, look at the lower left of the screen and hit the World Selection button. It will let you pick a new world.
Right now, selecting a new world is free.
I’m not sure I understand; it sounds like you tried using a game controller, and tried using a keyboard. I think most players are using a mouse. For camera control with a mouse, hold the right button down the whole time. That way you are always facing and moving in the same direction as the camera.

(I don’t like timed puzzles, either, Malignar.)
I farm it. OP—I agree with you. It’s easy to farm, and farming it makes me practice bad habits with my staff elementalist.
I would never get this one through “normal” gameplay, nor do I consider it normal for my ele to “evade” in the way that this daily is counted.
Not fun at all, nope.

As Michael referred to, it’s likely you need to change away from such a direct “Soylent Green” name derivative because of copyright.
