I see this thread pop up from time to time and my answer/thoughts are always the same: the game has evolved a bit and yes many things have been added, but the core of the game is still the same, and honestly I’d see no reason for you to enjoy it now if you didn’t back then. Sounds like your biggest gripe was lack of Trinity, and we still don’t have that.
There are, however, more group events which require co-operation now. Things will fail if people don’t pay attention, whereas before you could just afk auto-target on every boss.
Thank you for the reply. Are there any incentives to at least build somewhat support-ish? My gripe wasn’t so much the lack of trinity, as it was everything but max dps seeming sub-optimal. It’s good to know there’s more intricate group events though.
Hello everyone. I preordered GW2 before launch, and played it for a few weeks after release. I enjoyed it, but I found group content to be very unexciting, and for someone who has always preferred to tank and heal, I felt pretty much obligated to just pew pew and worry about my own survival.
I was wondering if there was any changes since then that have made grouping up a bit more engaging, I loved alot of the ideas the game brought to the table, but I just couldn’t stick with it. Thank you all for your time
