OK after having 3 days of performance issues I just logged on popped right into the game very fast. I am now seeing 58-60FPS.

The fix: Nothing…I did absolutely nothing new. I was just about to give up on this game when, BOOM-60FPS….

So peoples, I seriously believe this is server side…

Try reinstalling?

Tried it yesterday.

I have:

Deleted the client and reinstalled
Defragmented my computer
Virus scanned my computer and deleted junk files
Disabled Antivirus while playing GW2
Used the GW2 repair function
Updated ALL of my drivers
Tested the integrity of my internet network several times, including speed
Verified Windows 7 was up to date
Tested the temp of my CPU and GPU during GW2 playtime
Benchmarked my computer heat to ensure it was cooling properly
I have ran two other online games with no issues
I can run Skyrim with many mods on highest settings
I have tweaked the game using many threads found in this forum

I have pretty much done it all…and still no improvement what so ever

It doesnt matter what graphics settings I run, nothing has changed the FPS issues.

This all happened AFTER the latest maintenace takedown of the servers. Before i was running on highest graphic settings with a stable FPS of 45-65.

I hope the GW2 devs are secretly addressing because its obvious Im not the only player with this issue and we have heard nothing from them so far.

Even some acknowledgment would be nice!

Day 3 of 11 FPS in wilds and 6FPS in towns… this all started after the server maintenance was completed.

Game is pretty much unplayable for myself while this is ongoing!

I ran AMD auto detect again as recommended in this post:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/FPS-and-Performance-based-issues-1/first#post338300

It tells me all my drivers are up to date. Any suggestions??

Probably unrelated, but I’ve got a newer version of the AMD display drivers you pasted there, and I don’t think even mine is completely up to date. So I’m not sure how yours would be.

I ran AMD Auto Detect and updated everything so I was assuming my driver was current. Are you running a beta?

I am running out of ideas and im willing try any suggestions!!

So I was going to create a new character on a different server to see if the performance issues were server based and during character creation the game crashed…. i have NEVER had a game crash before…

Im gonna try this again to see if I can recreate this issue.

Just monitored GPU temp while in game…game still laggy as hell and max temp on my GPU was 64 degress. Game still very choppy… 6fps in towns and 10fps in wilderness.

Fought some mobs and traveled to different zones and no performance increase and no alarming temperatures.

Ok just to clarify when I was (and still am) experiencing the lag issues I was running on high performance.

I downloaded MSI Kombuster to check my temps and they were fine…benchmark testing showed an average CPU temp at 66 degrees with a high of 68.

I have been running on high performance…with my CPU i can also switch to turbo gaming mode which disables alot of windows services and other programs so you get the most out of your cpu while you play ingame and even that did not affect any fps at all.

I will check my temps and repost

Im having the same issue on the American side of the house…Anvil Rock server. I made another post so here it is:

Two days ago I was running GW2 with no issues on highest graphic settings for the most part. Loading times were fast with no issues.

Last night I logged in and it took a really log time just to log in upon initial start up. It took even longer to get to the character select screen. So I finally get in the game last night and its lag fest 2013!! I went from 45-60 FPS (two days ago on same settings) to 11FPS in the wild and 6FPS in towns…

So I lowered all my graphic settings in game… had no affect on FPS and Lag. I logged off and defragged my computer…no change. I then checked all my drivers…all up to date. I then ran a full virus scan with both of my programs (AVG and Malwarebytes)..no hits…

Restarted computer…no change in FPS. After discussing this with my GW2 buddies, I decided to delete the client thinking I could have a corrupted file somewhere…so, i redownloaded the entire game, logged in, and after all the changes, scans, defrag, etc.. NO change in FPS!!

So i disabled my antivirus and even logged out of steam…no change at all. Still lag fest…

I followed several different AMD suggested optimization threads on this forum and nothing has helped…

Im starting to think this issue might be server side, since no matter what I do on my end (all the common fixes for games), it never affects the FPS or lag issues Im having. I then checked my internet speed and everything fast as normal…

I then played two online games to test the theory..they ran great. I can even run skyrim on maxed out settings with alot of intensive mods….

I can even run skyrim on maxed out settings with alot of intensive mods….and it ran fine

Thank you for reading. I know alot of players are experiencing an unknown performance dro and its really making GW2 not playable…this day two!
