Guild Wars 2

A long time GW1 and short time GW2 player. I bypassed Heart Of Thorns, but the new expansion has caught my interest.

Visually, GW2 is a gorgeous game, so I always found it such a shame that there was no way to turn off what I consider screen spam (or noise) – thing like damage and heal floaters. In every other game I actively play, there are either in game option or add-ons to turn them off. Is there any way to turn these off in GW2?

I know this is personal preference, some people like them, some indifferent, and other like me that hate them. Having this as an option keeps everyone happy – surely an option to implement this would be fairly simple?

Are there options or mods for personalising the UI? I very much like a minimal interface – have a look at Elder Scrolls online. Basically I want to turn off damage, healing, experience etc. floaters. I find these take away from the immersion, are distracting …

By default most games have too much screen noise, but at least some games like ESO or WOW either have options or mods to turn these off – as well as other customisation options like placement etc.

Find me where they promise that and I’ll sympathize with you. You may be happy to hear that they’ve said that future expansions will include the previous xpacs they release to not have to isolate new players behind huge paywalls though this was never mentioned to include Living Story seasons (although it would make sense). LS2 was only ever free the 2 weeks it after each episode came out and they told us that would be the way it works at the start of the season. Also if/when they remake and bring back LS1 it will likely be in the gem store as well.

I still don’t get why season 1 has been taken away? It is perfectly good content that I’m will to pay (a small price) for but don’t have the option, seems such a waste.

Agree with most comments here. I’ve learned to ignore one time events in the future. I assume Anet went to a lot of effort for this event, but the overall feeling from the forums has been dissapointment. Wasted effor?
