Your reason for breaking up the GvG is completely bullkitten. Playing cards? You had not taken the whole map, you were not playing WvW at that point, you were playing to kill us and break up the GvG on purpose. Second point, the post made by the commander that there was 80 people at the GvG is utter rubbish. There was 25 SFR and 25 JS maximum, there was barely any spectators and CoN as a force did not really come until you started fighting us disgracefully. Even if you count that as 70 people at peak, which it wasn’t as they wiped SFR GvG 20 man first, then CoN came a little later, JS and SFR are still enemy teams and as such there is no way realistically we could fight on equal terms against 80+ man single viz blob.

This was most certainly not some even fight that you are trying to make it out to be. Also there was plenty of people still in the map, on SFR we had queues so there should have been plenty of people on the map.

Even with these excuses I can imagine your commander laughing going into that fight talking about ruining GvGs. We all know as a server you have condemned them, even for your own guilds so this comes as no surprise to us. As previously said, Viz has the reputation of running and hiding in heavily fortified towers, this is fair enough if you think you will lose fights and want to play for points.

However to suggest attacking the GvG was for some sort of reason to have a fight is stupid as most of the time (sorry to any Viz that are apart) you fight as the biggest blob you can and that is the only time you fight on the open field. So as such this is not a fight, it is a guaranteed wipe. This attack on the GvG was not looking for a fight, it was looking for a wipe on small numbers trying to have their own fun outside of WvW setting (there is no reason for anyone to be behind the orchard other than to do GvG).

This attack by Viz was disgraceful, disgusting and vindictive. I hope for your sake this is a one-off and a product of the commander(s) who commandeered it. More moves like this against more GvGs to every server will make you one of the most hated servers in the game and will only be a matter of time before servers start joining together to take you down. You would be foolish to think you could ever win against the top servers if they were to ever work together against you out of mutual hatred. Yes a GvG map would be optimal but we don’t have one, every server but Viz allows GvGs to occur on the maps without interruption. So again excuses about it being Anet’s problem not Viz playing the game is rubbish.

I have some respect for you that you play WvW for points and you play it well for that purpose, however if you continue on this path of wrecking people’s chances at small scale skirmishes you will lose complete respect from the community, even your own players will start to lose pride in a server I hope they love.

What are some people’s problems with guilds on here like BOOM among others? If you are going to slag other guilds off at least give an explanation rather than they are just a wannabe guild which makes no sense. Explain your reasons and maybe you will have some respect from your post even if people might disagree. Slagging off other guilds without explanation just makes you look vindictive and childish.

I have only just joined SFR from FoW mainly to have a better WvW experience because FoW had about 30 maximum on a map about once a day for an hour, if that. The top sever in the tier would always ‘blob’ with superior numbers and we were in effect powerless. However, we were very bad at putting up siege and defending and would just run about taking things. So tactically we were just awful and one of the very few commanders on that server made it very clear of his distaste for the tactics of the server.

The sentiment from this thread against blobs seems to call for GvG small skirmishes. This is all well and good but it is WvW, you actually have to defend things otherwise you lose them. If you find it boring then you should just go play PvP, which if you ask me is pretty much what a lot of you would prefer to do. WvW is about tactics, defending and commanding well. Skilled players can change the tide of battle.

Ironically I feel the person who made the comment about beating each guild on the server yesterday (if true) stabbed himself in the foot because if we were to lose to you, then yes of course we will blob, why wouldn’t we? Ultimately this game is a war, there is no fairness in war. If you cannot populate your server with enough people then you will lose, simple as. You moan about only having 20 people on your map, is it really our fault that we have superior numbers? Why should we accommodate for your server’s lack of players? Viz hyper blobbed us last week yet we still managed to win a fair few fights with and without siege. SFR also beats superior numbers a lot of the time so the arrogance of some people on this thread about their own server’s skill and of the lack of skill or whatever in others is just rubbish.

Final point, I am not the most skilled player, I haven’t been playing GW2 or MMO games for as long as most of you. Maybe some of you are skilled and can beat people 4 vs 1. However I am not. Blobs aren’t the only way to do things on a server and from my experience on SFR we do a lot of small group things as well. But in the context of the blob it allows me to give utility and help to my server even if I am not the most skilled. In a GvG scenario with small numbers I would probably be someone who brings down the team potentially. That is my view on why those people who want WvW to be GvG should just go to PvP where you can have 10v10 atleast. GvG things on WvW can happen and do happen and maybe some can do it for fun sometimes, but it should most certainly not be the template.

If you cannot get the numbers on to play WvW then your World is lacking. Maybe you should be moaning at why your server is only putting 20 people on a map. This is about server vs server, not about the most elite players from one map/guild against another. A lot of the talk on this thread is elitist and if they had their way non-WvW dedicated guild players would be looked down upon for even playing WvW which is just wrong.

tl;dr: stop moaning, it is WvW not PvP, look at your server’s deficiencies before attacking others and stop being elitist.
