Blinding clones does not do anything for shatters.

Blinding the Mesmer will work in some way. A 3 clone Mind Wrack + Blind -> first clone will not hit MW, the other two clones will hit. Same goes for CoF and Diversion.

I believe it would be possible to negate all the shatters this way like with Well of Darkness, although you’d have to be lucky with the clone distance etc.

You could try Sword + Focus. The Mesmer profession as a whole is rather lackluster AOE wise though.

Well I’ve max lvl mesmer but I stopped playing it because I don’t like mesmer playstyle so much.

However. I have to say they get a little bit too much everything in PvP. Okay clones fine, shatter fine… but then they also get crazy damage from GS (check yourselves it’s crazy) plus at least some confusion dmg which is much more annoying than i.e. retaliation. Some builds also do pretty insane confusion dmg.

My general complaint is a bit questionably high damage output while having ton of clones to avoid damage yourself in GS builds. This is what I noted while playing mesmer myself.

Just 5 cents.

GS is probably the easiest to counter of all Mesmer weapons.

Autoattack? Get in melee range and gg
Mirror Blade? Dodge the slow projectile
Mind Stab? Does anybody even use this in PVP?
Berserker? Just watch for the animation (very recognizable) and dodge
Knockback? Can’t do much about that, but high cooldown and low damage

It’s been said already, but I cannot stress this enough. Play a Mesmer for yourself and figure out how to beat them. It’s not as hard as you might think.

I dont see how pure DPS shatter build can survive in dungeons like that even with a condition removal. When I “do” get aggro from the boss, i die instantly and my party members are busy running around from adds/dealing with the boss to resurrect me lol. Gosh, it gets so annoying…

I use 20/20/0/0/30 for anything and do just fine. I hardly ever die in dungeons / fotm (still fine on level 26). Using a few pieces with Power / Vita / Tough along with my Berserker’s gear though, as well as 2 Sigils of Energy (Sword/Pistol + Staff) that really help on survivability.

Pretty sure I could survive as full Berserker’s as well. Cannot afford to get the gear and try out it sadly kitten you Legendary, eating all my gold).

Necros are the most efficient and effective class against Mesmers.

Maybe there are no good Necros that have ever faced Dragonbrand in wvw (It’s the only PVPing I do), but I’ve always considered Necros to be one of the easiest targets for me to beat ._.

That’s what I always thought as well, but then I tried sPVP and realised a well played necro is a massive pain in the kitten :P

Actually, we transferred because our old server wasn’t very WvW focused, and we were. As our guild has history with Xaoc in another game, and Blacktide as a server has a rather hardcore pvp mentality, we came to try it out, found it suited us better and stayed.

We don’t claim to be PvP gods, just as you don’t come over as taking pride in your server. Instead, you come off as arrogant whiny <something>, refusing to recognise that anyone else than you might actually be half-decent. Except if you’re not up against them, then it’s all like “Hahaha you just wait until you’re up against that server which kicked our kitten #8221;.

I at least recognise that even when we’re losing, we put up a good fight and had fun doing so, all YOU do is complain about everything.
I’ve been ill this week so haven’t been able to play much, but even if I had been playing, I wouldn’t have admitted to any good fights against SFR because honestly, at this point I don’t feel you deserve my recognition for your efforts.

Good thing that I’m pretty sure you couldn’t care less about my opinion.

To be fair we held the point lead most of yesterday

You held the point lead while the majority of our server was at work or sleeping.

I noticed a quick trend as soon as people started turning up you lost points at a rapid pace after about 7.30/8pm. We didn’t catch up for a little bit because you just had so many, but still.

Actually we didn’t start dropping in points until around 10-11pm, when both servers started to increase in numbers and people went off to bed on our side
