My password is unique to something only I would use. It’s my pet, merged with an event, a date, and my name so it’s odd but makes a word that’s unique. I managed to get the new password set in thankfully. Not sure why it was giving that issue so many times. But it’s changed so that’s good.

Also if a hacker learns how their system opporates…..they’ll eventually find a way around it. They usually do. Let’s just hope it’s not for many years though heh. Good luck to any others having issues similar to this.

Yeah same here. My email password is entirely different and very unique like my GW2 one is but they’re different.

Eh it never gave me a confirmation and I know my password is correct. It just said “must contain 8 or more characters” with everything I tried to change it to. And the new one was always more than 8. As well I’ve never made an account with anything else about GW2 or stupid gold sites….so I don’t see any reason I can’t change my password.

I do not want to lose everything I’ve worked hard for. I love the game and would hate to be forced banned because of a faulty “change password” on Anet’s end -.-

I also had that same issue when I tried to deny it…..had to do it several times to go through and it just appeared again saying they tried to log into my account again….

As for their password, that could be the case. But I think it was just a suggestion since they haven’t received an email for authorization elsewhere. I’ve had that on my log in before because it’s always there. But yeah, I’d still change it to be safe xD

Hm, I doubt that it’s remotely close to commonly used or used by hackers. I had just come up with it with this game and it’s far more complex than any I’ve ever used. Took 4 words, cut em in half to make one big word with really randomized lettering. It’s still a word just not one in a dictionary xP

And even if it was used by someone else, that don’t explain why I can’t change it =/

That’s a good thing, for you it’s just suggesting to update with a new password to keep it on the safe side. If I remember correctly, that’s always there on the log in. And yes I got an email authorization for that and immediately refused it and blocked but yeah trying to be safer…if they know the account they can always get the password….and eventually they’ll find a way to bypass security….usually do. That’s why I’m trying to change it asap to prevent that. Luckily for you it was just suggesting xD

My account has been logged in from Chengdu China, and that’s definitely not where I live nor anyone who I trust. So I tried changing my password, and for some reason I can’t set up a new one. It keeps saying “must contain 8 or more characters”…..the new pass had like 24 characters, and I’ve even tried one with 9, 12, 13, 10 etc. None are going through. My current password has 9 characters so I don’t understand why it won’t let me change to a new one so my account isn’t ruined by hackers from somewhere I’ve never even been -.-

Please tell me how I can fix this asap so nothing I’ve worked so hard for is harmed in any way.

Not sure why it says that but I would seriously consider doing so if I were you. I just found out my account was being logged in from Chengdu China…..however I myself can’t change the password because it’s bugged or something, so not sure how that works….But yeah it don’t let me change it and I definitely need to if someone in China already has the account and password….so I’d consider it if I were you and try changing the pass
