Guild Wars 2

Hello All and for starters thank you to those that actually make it to the end of this post and respond!

I came over from World of Warcraft, was one of the nerds that actually (literally) grew up playing it from the beginning 10 years ago. Of course WoW got boring and once I got into GW2 I fell in love all over again. My Dilemma however, is finding a class. I’ve tried to remind myself over and over again that this IS NOT WoW so trying to pick a class based of their class line up is of course impossible. However I’m stuck jumping from char to char and can’t seem to get past level 10. I know I should go with whatever class I enjoy playing. but that is Ranger, Eng, Ele, Necro, Guard, and War (so that doesn’t help me decide lol) The problem with GW2 is I keep reading SOOO many reviews about how certain classes can end up being dead weight endgame. Or I read a review that says a class is good PvP, but worthless endgame (heard that about the Necro and Eng so far) My question is of those classes which class, if played correctly, has the potential to be all around useful (Endgame, PvP, WvW)? One thing that seems to be in EVERY review is GW2 is a game where you have to know how to play your class efficiently, I have no prob learnin one once I can decide on one. I think thats why I’m at a stand still right now because I know its very unlikely I can master all the classes at once. If it helps at all, in WoW I’m always the healer, I know in GW2 every class has its own survival options, but being support and being able to “save” a group is what fascinates me.
And to those that are about to give me the whole “Forget the reviews and pick a class you like to play” lecture lemme give you a scenerio. When WoW first came out I chose a pally to take endgame, once I finally got up there it was a waste of time to me, pally could only do HALF of any assigned task and to top that off they were a DPS joke and most of our DPS came from …auto swings = boring. NEVER AGAIN lol. I need suggestions on a class I can take endgame and be able to PLAY endgame with out smh saying "Dang it…why didn’t I just level a __________! "
