I’m in exactly the same boat as you Butsu.
I have almost never posted on the forums, but this recent decision has me scratching my head feeling very conflicted. I played GW1 since the beginning and happily jumped into GW2, even buying a new computer just for the game. The game has given me hours of enjoyment and I have more than got my money’s worth. I was planning on buying HoT no questions, right up until this announcement.
There are lots of those people telling veteran players to stop complaining, but the reason we’re complaining is because this is just such a change from what we are used to. You explained it well regarding GW1 Butsu, so HoT seems like a shock as a result.
Whereas I’ve always backed Anet 100%, after this decision, I really am stepping back and will not be buying HoT or even continuing to play GW2 as I’m so put off.
Leakk
P.S. – Pre-purchase before a release date and all content has even been announced? That’s another massive change from what series veterans are used to.
While new minigames are good, I’d love if they added some variety instead of always different PvP type games. I’m a primary PvE players, so when I have to compete with others in minigames, I’m not as big of a fan. If they added some of the games that they were hinting before launch and are partially in game, like target shooting in LA and Divinities Reach that would be sweet!
Or you know, polymock
I’m betting that it will have to do with their Halloween content they’re going to be adding!
I would really like to see the synchronized day/night cycles across servers. I think this would be a good way to handle it, the immersion breaks and funny zone jumps wouldn’t be a problem then!
Just finished the story quest “Retribution”. For the last objective, killing the Plaguebringer, the majority of NPC’s from the orders stood on the field doing nothing. However, a small group of them stood right between the dragon's feet, in a large overlapping clump. Not sure if this is intended, but it struck me as odd that most of the NPC’s were doing nothing but their idle animation, while a handful were all so oddly located.
I was playing an Asura ranger. This bug is not blocking progress.

I was playing Twilight Arbor story mode today with a guildie as well as some others we found outside, got all the way to the second champion, when one of the members left the party or was disconnected (not sure which, as they just disappeared). All of us were then immediately kicked from the dungeon, and when we went to re-enter it, we were back at the beginning. I’m not sure if this is working as intended, I seem to recall I joined a group in progress in Ascalon Catacombs before, but it struck me as odd.
Is this a dungeon issue you are aware of?
