PvE player shelving thief class - trying again thanks to community!

I actually fidgeted with my thief on my own, and found that I could survive with either D/D with the SB on the side, there were times where I switched to S/P coz I got a cool sword skin, but that was it. Though I will admit there were rough patches along the way, but upon discovering all I can about the thief, I fell in love with the class for the 2nd time, even after the nerf.
Right now I’m leveling a guardian just to know how it feels like to soak everything that comes at me. xD (I’m on exotic CoF set on thief already so whenever I cant find a party to raid dungeons I level my sexy guardian.)
