Since the Running Man Anomaly patch, I’ve been experiencing a noticeable delay in skills triggering. It was particularly obvious during the event itself, but now I’m seeing it in spvp, too, and sometimes the skills don’t fire at all, which is really frustrating. It’s not my machine, my client was recently repaired, and my connection is stable. Halp, please?
I also have this bug, and repairing the client didn’t fix it. Cheers, devs.
Just ran into this myself. Dangit. I please can has meta, ANet?
Another sign for me is when I check the world map and it’ll appear completely unexplored where I’m standing, even if I’ve cleared it. My client crashes always happen when I’m moving and the camera is shifting with me; maybe the memory leak is in the action camera code?
Characters in LA, heart of the mists and the Mad kings lab all crash the client.
Only had one character in DR I could access. However Once in the game it seems to let me load the other characters after.
This worked for me. Thank you!
My gm and I both noticed our characters’ height have dropped a notch. We’re apparently not the only ones this has happened to (we’re on Tarnished Coast), and with his being max height, it was impossible to miss. Something went awry in one of the recent patches, I guess?
We’re hoping we can get a refund on the makeover kits we used to fix it. Wishful thinking, heh.
People who help others keep their problems are called enablers. You are not helping him by enabling him to remain afraid of a harmless image. You don’t help people with phobias by helping them avoid the phobia. Especially phobias that involve harmless pixels on a screen. If you really wanted to help him you would work with him on desensitizing him. Have him bring up the air elemental for one minute in LA then remove it by waypointing to the mists and back till he can stand seeing it. Then 2 minutes, then 3.
A phobia doesn’t necessarily make sense, nor can they all be dealt with in the same way. By “severe arachnophobia,” I mean “hyperventilates, has a panic attack, screams and throws computer across the room.” No, I’m not kidding. :/ Telling him “it’s just harmless pixels on a screen” is akin to telling him that the giant, venomous spider snoozing on his bedroom wall is harmless just because the wall is across the room from where he is. I know you mean well, but he literally cannot do what you suggested, and yes, he has tried a number of things in an effort to move past it; if it were this simple, rest assured he would have done it already. Whether the spider is virtual or not, the trigger is very real, and phrases like Zorby’s “this is such a 1st world problem” come across as very demeaning to the person who has to live with it.
Wait, the spark’s a spider? It’s got like 4 legs though.
I know. It’s not the number of legs that triggers him; it’s the very realistic way they move. When he played WoW, there were some spiders outside the city of Shattrath that triggered him so badly that, when he had to kill them for a quest, he had his ghoul pet beat on the things while he looked at the ceiling and occasionally peeked at his ghoul’s health bar to keep it topped up.
Would it be possible to add some kind of client-side toggle for elementalist pet appearances, please? The current look of the summoned air elemental triggers my guildie’s severe arachnophobia so badly that he hasn’t been able to play his elementalist since the change was made, and that character was his main and favorite up until then. He can just turn his camera away when other players have spider-like pets/minis out (he avoids the hell out of spider-inhabited areas as it is), but that’s not an option when it’s his own pet running alongside him.
I’m pretty sure he isn’t the only one this affects, so I hope the devs will look kindly upon my request to give some easement to the other arachnophobes out there. Thank you.
