What’s funny is if you use swiftness, a charr runs upright.
This is because you have your weapon drawn, so they have to hold onto it with their hands and run on their feet. If you put the weapon away using a key bind in the options, they’ll run on all fours again.
Wow, that’s a TON of responses! Thanks so much for an active topic guys, I’ll try my best to reply to all of you!
NUUUU!!!! Charr’s are awesome, because they are different!
And I’m alright with them being different! But I’d like some quality control on their difference. Don’t build your stuff around a single skeleton and expect it to work on a dinosaur, yeah?
Well after so much time since the game came out I think it is pointless pointing out the real problems
I’m all too aware of this. I played back in beta and launch, and everyone was upset when they hit end game armors.
Lol you have no idea if that solution would do anything not to mention is veiled under the goal fixing the Armor clipping by changing their idle stance.
Log in as a Charr. Type /bow. Watch as your Charr stands upright, realigns its neck, and adjusts its body to fit better with the armor its wearing.
Let me back down your complaint. . .
All fair points. But, like I stated, from an in-game perspective, that particular armor looks like it was designed entirely for Charr, and the fact that it gets rid of out MAIN FEATURES is just rediculous! Also, why would you want your neck exposed in combat. Ever? As for larger helmets, this becomes REDICULOUS when you look at outfits.
Best Example: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/c/ca/Mad_King%27s_Outfit_charr_female_front.jpg Mad King’s Outfit
If you’re referring to Pyre Fierceshot ( a Guild Wars 1 hero), he’s hunched over like the other rangers and warriors.
Yes, him! I thought I had seen him not hunched over, but all the same, you still gave a good example of upright characters.
Thanks again for all of this feedback! It’s good to see so many differing opinions on a singular topic. Just keep it clean!

I rather like the current stance. Instead of changing the Charr, they should change the skins. Some skins have a tailhole, why not all? Some helmets have room for horns, why not all?
About the shoulders, they are bad on about every race, which is why most of my characters don’t show them…
Tail holes could work, I suppose. But even that is just a quick fix for something that should be modeled specifically to each race, to make sure it looks as best as possible. You want evidence of this being a problem?
This is a Human Male wearing the Citadel of Flame armor. This armor was (at least from the game perspective) designed FOR the Charr. On the human, it doesn’t do much else than make him look a tad chubby because of the belt. The helmet fits, the shoulders work, and everything looks pretty seamless.
Here’s the Charr: “http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/e/e4/Flame_Legion_armor_%28heavy%29_charr_male_front.jpg”
The legs are hidden by the oversized belt, the tail clips through the back, the helmet is extremely oversized, hides your hair, horns, and ears, and on top of that, shows a ton of your neck. On armor that was (still, in game perspective) DESIGNED FOR THE CHARR. This is probably one of the most extreme examples I can find, minus an old issue with one of the Charr racial armor sets.
Thanks for the feedback though!

Hello once again folks!
Please keep in mind that this is simply a suggestion topic, and is only meant to portray my opinions. Feel free to leave responses though!
Hey Charr players! I have one thing to ask of you. Look at your Charr. What do you see? I see it all the time. Every time I look at it. The shoulders. And the helmets. And the tail. They’re oversized, and clipping! This seems odd, considering that most of the armors look perfectly fine on all of the other races, sans the male norn with huge shoulders!
Here’s my question. Why are the Charr so poorly kept in comparison to the other classes? Why are they forced to wear the same exact helmets, that we KNOW won’t fit them properly, as the humans? Why do our shoulders float in the air?
The simple answer: Time saving.
The in-depth answer: Their animations. The Charr animation of being bent over ALL THE TIME causes the armor to be distorted, and improperly places on the character’s skeleton. That’s why you can see under your shoulders all the time, and why your backpack seems a bit off. The animation skeleton is designed the same as humans, providing points on the body for the spine, the shoulders, and the head. The items conform to the sizes based off of different parameters, and are sized to fit.
The proposed fix: Make Charr stand upright! We know they can do it! Heck, the male Charr in the character creation menu is standing up tall! You even get an ally in the first Guild Wars (who’s name I forget) who stands upright the entire time he’s in your party! So why are the Charr forced to be hunched over, and even worse, run on all fours! This isn’t fitting for a larger Charr, as it slows down their animation, and overall, the running is a tad awkward at times. Now, I do understand that they’re cat people, they’re very instinctive, and it’s fitting of them. But this is further in the future, where the Charr are more advanced, and more ‘civilized’…or as civilized as they can get.
Let me know what you guys think! I’d love some feedback on these ideas!

Are you kidding? When i played on my guardian it’s hammer felt like some small music stick for gently knocking on tiny catbells.
It’s with warrior that when i wield a hammer i FEEL the hammer POWER! Both burst and that crippling shockwave just 100% deliver on the feeling of raw, savage power of the warrior!
Also if you don’t want to feel a ranged support (shoutbow)…then don’t play that build! I don’t and my warrior sure doesn’t feel like 2nd rate medic in pvp.
Suggesting not to use a build I can understand, but not when it’s meta. As for the differences between the hammers, a lot of it comes down to overall skill usage and proper sound placement. When you use the shockwave on the Warrior hammer, it sends a very subtle sound across the ground…which shouldn’t happen. You are literally CRACKING THE EARTH to make your foes twist their ankles! That should make a huge sound!
Now go and use Final thrust on sword > that sound of it!!!!!!!!!!! > ping!
WTF!?? for real?
This is very true. You are stabbing your sword into your enemy with ALL OF YOUR MIGHT. And you just get a soft plink. No sound of your pommel hitting the enemy’s gut, no excessive grunt or roar from your character as they exert their energy. Just a stab, and a tink.

The auto-attack for your first ability on your bar will swing 10% faster. So instead of doing, say, 100 swings a minute, you’ll do 110 swings a minute with 10% faster attack speed. I believe it may also speed up other abilities, though I’m not sure.
Out of the 4 utility skill types Warriors have AoE buffs, AoE buffs, self buffs and useless things. They don’t feel “strong”, they feel like buffers, because that’s what they are.
A correct statement! Warriors in this game don’t feel like front linesmen, they feel like support characters, designed to buff their allies and not much else. A bit of CC here, and maybe some damage with a well placed crit. But all around, they don’t share the same feel or utility as the other classes. Guardian being the perfect comparison, especially when you compare Greatsword skills.
Guardians get a blind, a might proc, a pull, a faster and more reliable charging attack, an easier to use and more damaging spin attack, and can combo field off of their own ability to remove conditions on allies.
Doesn’t seem like there’s much on a warrior in comparison, what with having only damage abilities and an increased crit chance when you hit with their burst. WHEN you hit.
Playing warrior after playing guardian for 2k+ hours. I feel extremely strong and enjoy the no so flashy style of it. I think i’m staying here for a while.
Hitting 8k on eviscerate is great fun!
I’m more referring to the feeling of the character, not so much the ‘flashy’ and ‘damage’. Sounds and such can make a big change! Glad to know you’re enjoying the class though!
Many thanks for all of the replies on this thread! I do hope people keep responding, because this is an issue that NEEDS to be addressed, especially when you consider that one of the main stand points for Guild Wars 2 is the world and character design!
thats why i turned off the sound 2 years ago
This is something you shouldn’t have to do, simply based off of poor sound design.
Bro, have you rampaged at all today?
I have actually! And the foot stomps feel POWERFUL! That’s what I’m getting at though, that’s one of MANY skills, and the rest just feel downright depressing in comparison!
Hey folks!
This is just a friendly little speculation topic, and I hope to get a lot of responses on this. Feel free to offer up opinions and new ideas!
Does anyone notice that Warriors don’t seem to have their own feel? I mean, they’re supposed to be REALLY strong!…right? But they don’t. Even with the Hammer, I notice effects that don’t quite seem fitting as a warrior. For instance, the basic attacks. When you hit with the 3rd basic attack in the chain, it’s a heavy smash! YEAH, WHOO! WHAT A HIT! I hear you shout! But the two hits before it you don’t even notice! They gently ‘plink’ on the enemie’s armor, making a sound that doesn’t seem like it’s placed properly.
Or another instance, with ground stomp. The thud of your character hitting the ground is muffled, and just a soft ‘thump’ as if you had jumped regularly, instead of a loud, crackling slam of an earth shattering leg slam!
I suppose what I’m getting at here is that Warrior, visually and audibly, just seems to be out of place when compared to the other classes. It’s not as flashy, it’s got boring sounds, and the only appeal to it seems to be the visual appearance of heavy armor. After seeing some gameplay of the new class coming out, I noticed that the attacks are so much more defined, and they feel impactful! I feel like I’d actually be DOING something, instead of just ‘Ohhhh, I’mma hitcha!’ tink
Perhaps we could remedy this in the future? Add some more flare to the warrior. It IS a super strong class, and it should be displayed as such! Give the sword slashes more feel to them, like a splatter effect on hit, or a better weapon sound, or even new animations! I suppose this all comes down to speculation at the end of it, but it just seems to be that Warriors are lacking in the visual front.
Thanks for taking the time to read, hope you reply!

Here’s a couple ideas that I think would help to even out a lot of troubles in Warriors:
Whirlwind:
While I’m well aware that an off-hand axe wielding warrior is capable of doing a good chunk of damage in an AoE situation with whirlwind, why should it be limited to just that? When i think of a whirlwind, i think of using as much range on my weapon as possible to deal damage to enemies around me. Change it to a class skill usable in many different situations, instead of being required to use an axe to use it.
Shouts:
Shouts are a good mechanic, but I can barely see any effectiveness in them other than a healing shout going down a specific build. By far the best shout IMO would be shake it off, which is usable every 30 seconds buffed, and I’m alright with that. But every other shout that I have is just dull and un-needed, considering that the buffs they offer are given by other classes almost twice as much (Guardians can remove EVERY DEBUFF from allies with one shout!). Shouts, by far, need at least SOME type of buff, they’re possibly out only mechanic that has any outcome in both PvE and PvP combined.
Elites:
It’s EXTREMELY underwhelming to see that I only have one usable elite, two MAYBE depending on the situation if you count the warbanner. Give us an elite that grants stability other than a transformation that makes us lose all of our skills, or an AoE elite skill along the lines of the thief’s bladestorm to give us something when it’s needed.
Traits:
Our talent trees are, at best, mind boggling to look at. Why would my power tree also grant me condition duration, while my Precision tree grants condition damage? It’s understandable, but Power affects condition damage, whereas precision does NOT affect the crit chance of them. The ONLY conditions that can crit (as far as I’ve seen, correct me if I’m wrong!) are fire and poison. That leaves anyone using swords, rifles, or bleed runes down in the dumps. And the burst damage +%, while a nod towards our burst skills, is just downright bad, and barely worth it without at least 15-20 points in the tree, considering I don’t even touch my GS burst.
Burst Skills:
Make them worthwhile! It is, again, upsetting to see that I’m almost never using my GS burst skill. I don’t touch it, I keep it there for the 12% damage buff from my traits, and that’s it. My weapon skills should all be viable at any given point, and I shouldn’t have to rely on my 2 and 3 skills only to deal any damage.
Bugs:
Our movement skills (bull charge, rush, whirl) can be buggy. Sometimes so much that we don’t even hit our target, or even go towards them. These bugs need to be addressed if we’re going to use them at all. I can’t tell you how many times I try to rush at a target (GS 5) just to stop while they’re still moving and miss the attack.
And I agree on the banners! We shouldn’t have to move them every three seconds, that’s just annoying considering some battles don’t even last that long in PvE. PvP, yeah, they’re alright, but again, the buffs are so miniscule, I’d rather just keep a signet or frenzy there.

I should elaborate on this a bit.
When I open up the GW2 Launcher, I’m greeted as normal with patching numbers, etc. However, when I click on “Log In”, I’m automatically prompted to change my password because I haven’t changed it in a while. I click the button to take me to the page, and my launcher closes.
On the password change page, I enter my old password (which I just used to log in to the site), and I enter a new password, but when I hit enter, it says that I’m not allowed to use that password because I’ve used it before. This confuses me, so I try another password, and I get the same message. After which, I try a completely NEW password that I’ve never used, and after hitting enter, it goes back to telling me that I haven’t changed my password recently.
I’m requesting a manual password reset via the admins so that I can change my password again and get back into the game. This is preventing me from playing as it closes down the launcher after I’m sent to the password page.
Sincerely,
~Kal
