Let me tell you a little bit about why I suck.
When I first started this game, I made an engineer. Played it up to about 30, I died, a lot. I didn’t understand why there were so many kits that did different things, or how long you were supposed to stay in each kit. So I got rid of all my kits and did all elixirs. That didn’t go very much better at all. Things would get to me quick, and my elixirs would either be on cool down or I’d have to use them all to try to stay alive, meanwhile my 2 pistols were good for gluing someone down or blasting them in the face with fire, but that didn’t do very much damage at all. Hell, you would think if you got shot in the face with fire, you’d pretty much be dead.
So then, I made a Necromancer, got it up to about 25, and realized that putting down wells and kiting someone over them while your pets do all the damage is about as boring as things can get. I didn’t die much, but it just wasn’t super exciting.
So I deleted them both and made a Guardian. I read about everyone saying they’re super defensive and you should never die. Well I died. A lot. I guess I’m just not sure how to maneuver correctly in melee. Because as soon as something punches me, I crumple like wet toilet paper.
Now I’m on a Mesmer, but there’s not much damage and it’s hard for me to stay alive at all. I also have a level 15 Elementalist, but it’s the same problem. I can’t figure out which attunements to use when, and so things just end up running up to me and punching me in the teets.
This is certainly not a troll post, if you played with me for 5minutes, you’d see something you’ve never seen in your life. Someone who sucks at video games apparently. I used to be a pretty decent Resto Druid in WoW, so that either tells you how easy that class/game is, or how different this one is in comparison.
So, I’m really not good at this game. Which profession would you recommend for someone who sucks at things?
My life has gotten too fargin’ busy to play like I used to. In terms of getting my level 20’s up to enjoy the rest of what this game has to offer, which profession would I be better off spending my time on to enjoy everything. PvP, PvE, and WvW?

Thieves aren’t overpowered because the OP plays one.
Warriors have insanely high damage, while also having bunker builds.
Same with Guardians.
Rangers can bleed you to death.
Necro has highest HP and “shadow shoudr”. Oh and minions.
Engineers are terrorists.
Mesmers are the weakest class in the game because it takes them hours to kill you.
Ele has 20 skills, and can apparently weapon swap now. Who knew?
What’s up with shortbow rangers? p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-pew. BLEEDS DEAD.
But seriously tho, nothing’s wrong with them.
I hate GW2 hotjoin pvp.
I’ve never liked WvW iterations.
I like GW2 pve & dungeons.
I like GW2 crafting.
I like GW2 tourneys, although wish they were going to be ranked/laddered/paid soon.
ymmv, and the OP’s has. Not “good riddance” and “see ya” and crap like that, it’s more I’m sorry you spent 60 bucks and didn’t find it fun. I hope you do have fun in whatever you do elsewhere, or if you continue to play here, that it gets better for you.
Fanboys are funny. Nice way to shift from attacking a poster to providing cover for ArenaNet by using the “every company does it” line of reasoning.
People who assume that someone is a fanboy because that someone is tired of reading everyone else’s constant whining are funny. This game is far from perfect, and ArenaNet is far from perfect. Hence the reason for every class to have a bug sticky, some with over 100 bugs currently. However, they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt with me because of the track record they had with making pvp in GW1 so darn enjoyable for me. And it’s been 29 days. 32 with headstart. How was Warcraft doing in its first 29? Rift? Diablo 3? Star Wars? Tera? Secret World? Do people seriously think any other developer has been perfect? If so, why are they not playing that game instead of this one? Other than maybe the fact that it’s died out. Even the great “DAOC” had its issues.

On a side note: I’m sorry your first pvp match was a bad experience for you. As a casual gamer myself, I like to see people try to enjoy as much as they can, and experiences like this can ruin it for people. I’m just hardened by the internet I guess, but my wife had a similar problem to you and now she refuses to ever go back in pvp, so I’m aware some people get turned off by one random a-hole they meet. Just shrug it off, and keep on trucking. Not all people are dbags, just a higher percentage of them in pvp.
