I have found a few topics following this same problem. I saw one suggestion of removing all my armor, putting all of it in a personal bank, then warping to a new location. This worked only for as long as I had my armor off. The moment it was all back on, the Flame Eye came back. I’m not sure what to do.
Hello! After taking my Elementalist to level 80 using the free boost, a Soldier’s Flame Eye of the Elementalist ended up on her. I didn’t like the fire effect, since my Sylvari is themed to be a soft, purple and white color all over. Like any sensible player who just got a useful exotic piece, I transmuted that sucker with a Sylvari-specific “Orchid Helm”. This… is where things got a little complicated.
My Sylvari had always had the effects of her original Lightning Eye on her, even after I switched to her first Orchid Helm. It wasn’t a big deal, since it was purple and hardly noticeable to me. So, that is to say, the problem has persisted. I’ve tried many different things, even giving her a hood to try and cover the problem and see if it’d go away. It didn’t. Now I’m not sure what to do.
Is there any way to play with the layering and remove the effect? I tried replacing the Fire with Lightning, since that was a little less noticeable on my character, but instead it just added the effects of Fire and Lightning to her face..! Removing the Lightning worked fine, but the Fire remained. I’m not sure what to do and could use some help. From what I understand, other people cannot see the fire effect. I… still really don’t want it there. It’s an aesthetic I don’t like at all. Any help, tips or tricks, would be greatly appreciated.
