So which lines and utility skills u exactly run? Mind sharing?

I was gonna post the build, but the page of the editor is currently down. :P

I run cele amu, durability runes, and leeching + blood sigils. The traits are:
- Water (1/3/1)
- Earth (3/3/1)
- Tempest (3/2/3)

I use the heal shout, teleport, fire aura shout, ice aura shout and elite shout.

It’s just an amazing build in the current meta and a true allrounder: excellent mobility, 1v1’s, teamfight, support, sustain etc.

Hmm yeah, I used to run exact same traits but with scrapper runes and diff sigils and had a decent success till I switched to focus while back. Think I’m gonna give durability a shot. Thanks-

Yeah of course I miss it a lot. It was the most complete pvp build and also the most fun for me. Having said that it was darn op before the fire nerf. I hope anet would look into our traits so we can have that active style again. Right now water and earth feels mandatory and it sure isn’t the most exciting.

I dunno man.. I’ve been playing with similar stats for a long time with Vitality of 1560 (with food).. My base stats are similar but I normally have lower precision and higher ferocity. Cele gears are still way to go for DD imo.

But really, I think classic DD ele is just in a bad spot for roaming cuz other Elite specs have improved their roaming/dueling capability while Tempest hasn’t (well, at least not as much for sure). That was probably my biggest gripe for the expansion.

I dont think stats are really the problem. I’ve tried focusing on diff stats, be it power, toughness, or whatever, but I’ve felt that any capable roamer would have upper hand.

At any rate, at this point I think Tempest might be better so I’m messing with with aura healing and fresh air but different diff trait combo brings diff deficiency (condi clear, lack of damage, lack of stab and etc).

For runes, I think Strength is still the best. I don’t think extra vitality really outweighs the might duration/damage. Anyways, good luck to you :/

Hope I’m wrong and I know it is extremely early but the roaming doesn’t look so promising. In 2 hours of solo roaming I had one fight. The map just seems to big with most of the time spent in walking.

I would say while you are leveling, try to get a great feel for your roaming set, whether it is S/x or D/x. If you enjoy WvW enough later, you will learn how to play staff by necessity. I’ve seen handful of eles who only know how to staff but not good with (or at least not willing to play) roaming sets, but almost all decent eles know how to play staff. Just my 2 cents.
