We need to keep filling this topic and let Anet know this just will not do… For Alt-o-holics (which I’m sure a lot of us are) this is just kittened. The amount of mapping we need to do even on characters we barely ever play (but do want the elite spec for) is crazy. I don’t mind things being gated behind masteries and ofc we shouldn’t just be handed the elite spec, but the play time required on all my alts for it just seems to much.
Maybe they should add an item to the gemstore at a reasonably affordable price to unlock the skill points (the item is already in game for WvW, shouldn’t be too hard)?
Or maybe they should make the Hero Points Accountbound, making the massive grind a one-time thing?
Just to pitch in, I too have this issue and I do believe it’s a server side issue as well.
I’ve only had this problem since the last patch(ish) and it seems to be very random when it occurs.
Look at the attached screenshot from my Resource Monitor.
The latency to the GW2 servers is crazy high and that is what causes the lag.
I don’t have this issue on any other MMO/MOBA I play, so it’s very likely a serverside issue.
Maybe they are being DDOS’ed like the LoL and Diablo servers are all the time, but an explanation would be nice.
