From reading the forum, it seems like D/P is the current meta and preferred over D/D. I am still levelling, and so far, i find D/D more effective. I am curious why people generally like D/P over D/D.

Stealth, in particular, seems way easier to achieve using D5 vs Smoke field and leaping through it a bunch (spending all of your initiative in the process).

title says it all. Thinking about trying my necro again… haven’t played her in a long while, and really only did a bit of WvW zerging when i did.

If i want to do map completion, around level 30, what do people think the best trait lines and weapon choices are?

genuine question – why all of the love for GS? I feel like i am doing something wrong but it never feels terribly powerful to me.

The game has decided to allocate all of my points to Chaos… so i can’t go dueling as recommended. Am i better off rerolling? (I have an anniversary boost to get me back to 20 if necessary)

Looking for some advice on leveling under the new skill system… now the specs are using the same points as the skills not sure which to prioritize, what the best weapons to use for leveling now are, etc. My mesmer is about 35 and i haven’t played her in about a year.

Is it possible to start fresh at this point in time, or am i too “behind” everyone else now?

Your university is probably traffic shaping. Basically, it throttles any internet traffic they think will put excessive strain on their network. ITs very common to see networks that throttle streamed video, gaming and peer to peer connections.

The best thing you could do would be to find out what ports GW2 are using and make a request to whatever department in your university that managest the network and ask them to stop throttling. Online gaming takes very little traffic, and there is no reason for it to be throttled.

I’m wondering if this could be some sort of routing problem. I live in Ontario, Canada – are any of you close by, or is this happening in various regions?

So, this being my first time pvping in GW2 i just picked a terrible night? lol

I tried doing some hotjoin pvp today (First time ever) and i was plague by massive lag – overall i’d say i was sitting at about 1.5-2seconds of latency with spikes in the 5-10second range at least once or twice per match. As fun as the pvp seems to be, i really can’t participate in it right now.

The rest of the game runs perfectly. Its JUST the structured pvp environment (so far. haven’t tried WvW)

so, i can see how you could play it more melee like that, but i dont’ think thats really an option at my level… Like i said if i am in melee range, even with chaos armor, i get completely facestomped by > 1 mob. The only way i can beat multiples is with some very kiting and blowing my heal on cooldown

I’m having a bit of trouble finding the synergy between a Staff and Sword/Pistol build. I’m currently level 31, and geared for condition damage.

The problem seems twofold: 1) Condition damage doesnt’ seem to help much for a Sword/Pistol build; and 2) I find that if i am in close with sword i get absolutely wrecked if i have more than one enemy on me.

Because of this, the only time i find myself using sword/pistol is a) at the begining of a single target boss fight where i will pop iDualist and the nswitch to staff immediately or b) when i am almost dead and i think Sword#2 might give me the 2 seconds i need to make it through the fight, or to my next healing cooldown.

My question is on how other people gear and use this combination effectively. I see a lot of Mesmers use this setup so i am curious as to what i am missing.

Should I be using it as I level at <3 vendors, or is there something later on its better to save for?
