[Suggestion]Agony-Resist leveling

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Actually a terrible Idea, some people run fractals because of the gold it gives and part of the gold comes from agony resist.
If by your system you get AR by leveling it will take up a lot of time to get t4 then you’d get enough AR +1s to get to +150 by then. So what does this system really induce apart from the falling prices of AR….?

DH close range tips?

Heya dude I would recommending posting you build/armor set. Such as if you are running full berserkers and you aren’t as experienced in the game you will die very quickly. If you are then i suggest running a few soldier pieces, it only lowers you damage slightly but really help you survive

Running LB/GS means you are completely offensive (even GS 4 isn’t really much of a defensive option). So it does increase dmg compared to x/focus but if you are dying quickly you won’t be able to do that dmg. But sword focus is what I run just because I believe its overall better with a gap close/projectile destroyer/blind/blocks(burns). Hence I recommend it! will help you survive a ton more!

Not sure what you are running but assuming your running GS i can assume you run 3 4 traps? remember traps do a lot of dmg but they are worthless if dodged hence try have some more condi clense(also heals a little bit if you traited)

Remember you have many tools to help you range your opponent and I encourage you to do so due to DH being pretty squishy.

Hope it helps

Trait Tree Ban?

The main goal is to give build diversity of course but also to define what is considered OP by the playerbase choices. Banning 1 trait line is not like banning a full class. When I look at esl, I don’t only see the same class stacking but also the same builds. That’s why people tend to use what works better and just copy/paste builds. The paradox is that a class like thief where there is not truly a build that shines over another, is the one I’ve seen played in many different ways, from d/p to s/d and staff.
Then people above sayong d/d without arcana don’t work, well that is the point, if my team want to avoid d/d ele, it might choose to ban arcana. Eles go play some different build and ban what can give you more troubles when not playing d/d arcana.
Also players that want to play at higher lvl should be able to play everything and evety build.
I know moba are a different thing but you don’t even play ranked if you only know how to play 1 champion right?
In the end my idea might be not as good, but it’s not fun either to see every freaking class play the same exact copied build.

I still agree diversity will be good for the game overall (though still think your direction is wrong as many has commented) however you have only address 1 of the three problems i posted(although there are many more).
It increases the barrier of entry to new players when you actually want more players to pvp(I think the reason for e-sport is to promote the game and pvp in general).
However you compare it to moba (LoL) but its an unfair comparison. You can’t go into league only knowing one champ because there are several gateways.
1 either team can ban the champion.
2. Either team can pick the champion before you
3. Its a moba vs mmo.
You can expect someone to learn a champion well in league much quicker than a class in gw2 (i won’t get into this but i hope you can deduce the reasons yourself)
Players at a high level should be able to understand how to interact with each class when facing them with their own class not be able to play them all to the same standard(not the point but since u brought it up)
The point is you can’t compare an mmo to a moba due to moba having hundreds of characters with less depth than a mmo with little classes but with much more mechanics per class.
This might be slightly offensive but I don’t know if you genuinely think its a good idea or you really don’t like so many people disagreeing with your idea but clearly its not a fond idea of many.

If your idea is to create build diversity then sure great! I like diversity but not in this direction.
1. It will decrease my enjoyment of pvp(personal reason)
2. It increases the barrier of entry to new players. How? Lets say I only know how to play auramancer (ele) but then you ban away tempest so now I have to go some other build I don’t know, then several games later im getting stomped not only due to lack of experience in the mode but also because im playing a build I don’t know. (Learn? that’s not a good mentality and drives people away)
3. How much time do you give someone to reset their build? Unless they are completely familiar with their class they might take time to pick their traits/utilities/sigils/amulette/weapon etc. So how long do you give me to do that? 5 mins? I don’t want a 3-7 mins wait time to only wait for 5 minutes longer. this increases the length per game by two fold.

There are many more reasons but generally it has too many flaws as a mmo to ban one something so big.

Help vs Burst

Heya dude you need to tell us the class you are playing and the class you are having trouble with. Else can only give you very generic advice like dodge better or use your invulnerabilities at the right time.

Right now burst is slightly out of control but its only the start of expansion but general advice is to understand the conditions and animations in which a class will burst such as rev can burst you with his sword 3 which is the thing when he just teleports around you evade everything and do tons of dmg. If you dodge then you’ll mitigate most of their damage. So make sure you understand most if not all the classes (you can try them all easily)

Make sure when you ask for help to be more specific or people can’t help you that well!
