Can a dev get on this? From what I can tell this has been a problem for at least a week.

If you can get the timing right, doing the final event in the Auric Basin meta is pretty quick. And it give a decent amount of exp and loot. Hopefully that’s helpful!

8/10 It’s hard to get cloth to look nice on a charr in my opinion! So good job. I’m not a big fan of the colors, but otherwise nice looking charr.

Here is Mar I used Mithril dye and Orange Cream dye. It’s a mix of CoF, the exotic karma set, and the dragon set, with cultural tier 2 helm.

My femcharr War that is level 80 I think Mar is a kitten! I really like female charr and I think Anet’s design to give them proper sexual dimorphism was great. I have 3 others but they’re all low level. I think the charr armor design could have been given a lot more thought though. I was a bit disappointed in that aspect.

oh my god Anet. Zhaitan could have been a much cooler battle. I think they got caught up in how cool the model of Zhaitan was and forgot to add in a fight. Seriously that was terrible, even GW1 had better end bosses. At least you actually got to /fight/ them

Descendants Of the Epitaph is a newly formed guild on the Tarnished Coast server!
Descendants Of the Epitaph is looking for active players who: want to run and learn all dungeons, are interested in a tight-knit social guild, are interested in guild activities/events, and generally participating in world events together as a guild.

We are looking to be a smaller guild, made of 30-40 active and patient members, in order to foster a more social and friendly environment. We are planning on running scheduled events weekly, and would like to learn and teach all of the dungeons.

We will be using a Ventrilo server for voice chat. While we will not require Vent for being a member of the guild, it would be preferred if you are planning to run/learn the dungeons.

We are active mainly on weekday and weekend evenings/nights. Our main language is English. We are located on the Tarnished Coast World.

If you are interested in joining, please post on this board or PM/Message: Mar Bloodclaw OR Balinor Thane

Looking for PvE tight knit guild

in Guilds

Keros.5298

Hi there! I am starting a guild that aims to be tight knit and will focus on dungeons and PvE, including guild events. I will be making a post about it shortly~ please consider joining. While I may not be experienced at dungeons I am looking to learn, to foster a group that runs dungeons well, and is also capable of teaching the dungeons. You can add me in game as Mar Bloodclaw. I’m on the Tarnished Haven server.

To be honest, I think a lot of the posts in this thread are about personal preference, rather than the storytelling itself.
There are people out there who loved Tybalt’s voice acting (and the character himself) and then there are people like me, who didn’t. Tybalt sounded extremely incompetent in my opinion, and this made me feel like he didn’t belong in the Order of Whispers. On the other hand, I loved Traeharne. I found him original in an aloof kind of way, and I loved his voice acting as I took it as a trait of his; I thought it matched his being a necromancer pretty well. Asking for Traeharne to become friendly and to say things with more emotion would be like me asking for Tybalt to become more discreet and guarded, as I found his enthusiasm out of place.

I’m not saying I want Trahearne to be more friendly or “emotional” I’m saying his line delivery needed emotion/human inflection. There’s a difference between acting and just reading a script. Trahearne has moments when he questions himself and his place as a leader, where he expresses passion and interest in Orr and its corruption, and the delivery falls flat and feels out of place/insincere. It’s probably a result of both writing and voice actor problems.
These are also problems with many other NPCs, but as Trahearne is a major character, I would have expected him to be more well written and well acted. There’s a difference between a character being believably aloof and being a character who is just bored all the time. A “like-able” character is not necessarily a character who is friendly. Jerk characters are “like-able”, characters/villains you hate are “like-able”, any character that evokes real emotion in a person is “like-able.” They are in essence ‘characters.’ Trahearne, is not a character, his VA delivers his all his lines with the same enthusiasm of someone picking at their finger nails. He’s more of a plot device with a character model.
Also bad fake british/english accents have never ever helped anyone in my opinion.
***After looking about the forum, I suppose my post should really be in the we hate Trahearne thread. But most of my complaints with him are about his voice acting.

I would agree with those who said Trahearne is terrible. Overall I feel like he COULD have been an interesting character. But his line delivery is terrible and his writing could have been better. Especially for someone who is as close to a main character as GW2 gets.
Everything he says comes across with all the emotion of a tree stump (pun intended). He’s difficult to like because he rarely shows emotion through voice acting, and his lines are generally bland.
I also feel weird about that first part of the personal story. I played a female charr in the blood legion, and I liked my warband and what I had built as a Charr. I feel like that was mostly forgotten and I just stepped out of being a part of the Charr, and became a ‘generic heroine.’ The character model is the only thing that reminds me I am a Charr.

I would be incredibly disappointed if Anet never brought back Cantha or Elona to the game. Cantha and Elona, in my opinion, had the most unique concept art and explorable areas within the GW1 game. Sure I love Tyria (the continent), but to me, what really set the game apart was the fact that they explored different cultural influences, mythologies, and fantasy settings. The variation in geography with Cantha and Elona was a feast for the eyes and was where I think I really fell in love with the series.
Correct me if I’m wrong (I may be), but I don’t think I’ve ever played another MMO with an entire expansion dedicated to African/Middle Eastern based content. I loved the landscapes in both Factions and Nightfall, and I particularly enjoyed the story that Nightfall told.
I’m already kind of disillusioned with this game, but if we really never see Cantha or Elona again, I feel like a large part of the reason for my love for Anet and its artists will die. I really respected Anet for making two expansions that explicitly stepped away from eurocentric fantasy settings and for making, what I thought, was the only interesting representation of different cultures of a single race within a fantasy world (in an MMO).
To me, that made the world of GW1 feel more like an immersive world than any other MMO I’ve played to date.
So Anet, please don’t let Cantha and Elona die so easily. It was a part of GW that I (and I think many others) loved.
