@Justin, yeah one of my guildies pointed it out after I posted this. The dev tracker post implies that they (Arenanet) are going to fix it, but they are also going to CHANGE it to something different than it was. I hope they don’t do it. I liked that sound.

Since the Twilight Assault patch, by sound effects (specifically the No. 1 skill for the Mesmer’s Great Sword) have been wonky. It’s like it’s only playing part of the sound and I can’t seem to find a cure for it.

I’m uploading a sample of what I mean to YouTube as I write this. I hope this helps to point out my issue.

Once I get the video uploaded I will run a file verification/repair with the GW2 client and see if that finds anything. Will report those results when I have them.

My hardware: Asrock z77 Extreme 6, Intel Core i5 3570k (overclocked to 4.2GHz), 16GB Ram, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium (PCIe), Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660, 2x Seagate Barracuda 750GB hard drives in RAID0.

When I played the Beta, I kept telling myself “This isn’t finished yet.” because, like most everyone, I was under the impression that if I could play GW1 maxed with no problems, then running GW2 on med would be about the same.

Well, that’s dead wrong.

Truthfully though, I know my machine isn’t the greatest and I have to give the nod to the CPU being maxed out for that. That doesn’t stop me from playing – I play every night in PvE and I’ve dabbled in WvWvW on occasion. PvE is MUCH more enjoyable.

I’m hoping a new PC (which is in the works) will help my problems, but that doesn’t fix the problem here. The problem that I have with this whole situation is that Anet is not talking about this – at all. But I guess that them saying nothing is better than them saying “We’re working on it.” for month after month.

I hope for the community’s sake that they are working on it. I hope for the community’s sake that they resolve it quickly. Because couple the lackluster performance with a real lack of content and you get a mass exodus of players – which has been happening…for months.

-instal the game on the second PC (only the launcher), once it starts downloading the client. cancel the download and close the laucher.
-Copy the game folder from original PC, and just paste it replacing the game folder on the new PC.
-Start the launcher again, enjoy

So, since it’s possible, do I simply copy over the GW2 files that I already have? or do I need to run the client install first and then copy the files.

As for Windows, it’ll be Windows 7 Pro x64.

This isn’t a tech support issue, but more of a question. So I’m sorry if this post is in the wrong place.

Is it possible to copy GW2 to another computer – like on a DVD, thumb drive or external hard drive? (Or download it in advance and then move it.)

I’m going to be building a new PC this week (assuming all the parts arrive as expected) and would like to move the game from my current computer instead of having to wait overnight for it to download once the new computer is up and running.

I understand that the promotion is for new accounts.

On the buy.guildwars.com website there doesn’t seem to be a method of upgrading an existing account to the more expensive version. I can only see where I could purchase a new (second) account.

Are account upgrades possible? I’d pay $20 to upgrade my current Digital to Digital Deluxe.

Forgive me if this has been asked before…

I’ve just seen the promotion that’s running until Jan 7th where when you buy Guild Wars you get the Digital Deluxe version upgrade for free.

If I wanted to upgrade my current version (Digital only) to the Deluxe version, how would I go about doing that and how much would that cost?

I just noticed (I know, 4 months, I know) that I can’t access the “God Walking Amoungst Mere Mortals” title on my account. I thought that to this title was available to anyone who achieved the “GWAMM” title in GW1 and linked their accounts.

If I’m mistaken, then I apologize, but I do have a toon with GWAMM and 50/50 in the Hall of Monuments – I can access all of the HoM titles, just not the GWAMM.

I’ve not found a way to change the display name on my account…is there a way to do so? If so, how? If not, will there be a way to do so in the future?
