Unfortunatly, that’s just how it has to be. I’m from Piken and we have no one to blame but ourselves. That week we ended up in last was just unforgivable.

Not that it makes much of a difference to be 3rd or 4th.

1) I don’t understand your point, my apologies.

2) You are fundamentally wrong when it comes to dictating prices. Let me explain why:
Reason a) The more money you try to move, the quicker attentions are drawn to you and other people start trying to get their share, destroying the monopoly before it begins.
Reason b) The way making money works is buying low, selling high. But you can never control the lowest selling item. Therefore, people can always sell lower than your stipulated price again. And, you would have to continuously increase the buying price in order to maintain the monopoly of the item, which would inevitably cause the profit to disappear. And that’s just unavoidable.

Let me give you a practical example of reason b.

In an alternate reality, one person wants to take control of an ascended material’s market (from now on, referred to as “item”). To do that, he buys the 1000 available items for 10g each and puts them up to sale for 100g each. This would make for a 80g profit, for each item, theoretically. However, people will not buy them right away, as the price is just ludicrous. As the new selling price is now very high, buying prices raise too. Then, other people begin to sell lower then you. He could buy them all again, trying to maintain the monopoly. That would cause the sellers to be happy (since he bought the items) and cause the subject to pile up even more of his items. Realistically, he would never get rid of those items he was selling for that huge amount of money (and would lose money by listing them).

You might argue, “but that price increment was too big”. Well yea, but if he tried to sell them for 20g after buying for 10g, what would be the result? Buying prices would go up a notch and people would still try to sell lower than him, ultimately leading to the profit margin getting really small. Eventually, the prices go back to normal and he is stuck with the items selling way over their given value.

This is only a rough example, there are many more variables into play and I find it quite hard to put these concepts into words, as English is not my main language.

Thanks. Desolation hasn’t gotten a single fair match up in year 2013. We can still get small wins and even conquer one map zone, but all that is temporary dominance. We lack coverage and sustain due our lower numbers, so the results of this week are pretty easy to guess.

Our guild TLA has at best managed to get around 15 people to WvWvW at same time, running with just 8-15 guys is pretty hard at the moment, because the likelihood to run against 20-40 player enemy group is really high.

It is getting obvious that Arenanet will never do anything fix the population issues or coverage issues. The only thing for us is to wish that by some miracle some guilds from other top EU servers would move to Desolation. With the current transfer cost I don’t think it will be happening. But if any of you want to a more even match up transfer to Desolation to even the numbers. We can maybe cover part of the transfer cost.

- Secondly, ANTI-STEALTH were NOT MEANT for thieves, but rather invi/veiled zergs. Wasting an anti-stealth trap on a thief is plain useless, a waste of both badges and supply.

Statistically, a LOT of people will salvage 9 rares are come out with 0 ectos. And those will think the process is bugged, instead of blaming pure bad luck. So it’s not necessarily a game bug.

Results from latest test (with Master salvage kit):
- 36 rares;
- 43 ectos.

It seems fine here.

It is not a “bug” to be “fixed”. It’s a deliberate mechanism to prevent clipping issues. But I do think certain facial hair styles would not cause said issues.

This is intended by the devs to prevent clipping issues with all the different hairstyles/beards with every new hat they add to game. It would take Anet allot of time to go through each hair/facial hair to to fix the clipping issues for each new head piece they add to the game that’s not cost effective to do so.

While I do understand why this is done, I don’t see a reason to do it with certain facial hair styles. I very much doubt some, like the one in the OP, will ever cause clipping issues. But then again, I could be totally wrong

Apologies to the people above, who apparently experienced a problem I did not have and did not quite understand until I comprehended its magnitude. I have no theories on why you have felt lag throughout this whole time, while the only I’ve had in months was the occasional global skill lag in WvW.

Now, for what I actually wanted to share:
- At approximately 8:45PM tonight (BST, aka GMT with DST), I was playing WvW. And everything was fine for quite a while, I didn’t feel a single lag spike. Suddenly, I heard a short distortion/freezing sound, accompanied by a quick frame freeze. From that point forward, we experienced quite a bit of lag.

I have no idea if this is relevant, but I thought I should share anyway.

A quick fix for this issue is pressing the key that appears “stuck.” so, if you are running forward after releasing W, then just press W again and release, the character should stop moving… Same with spin direction, strafing, etc.

This has been reported before, I’ve even reported it in-game many times. There was a thread or two on it somewhere before. Hopefully, this helps you.

The only time I’ve seen this happen was with an overlay, that’s why I asked. I hope it doesn’t happen too often for you guys, I can imagine how annoying it can be.

Again Shadow’s Embrace removes only ONE condition if you can access stealth which depends on your build it removes more under shadow refuge which you can easily see and push us outside the circle.

“This” lag problem has only been reported since the latest patch.
The only lag I have ever felt over the last few months was either in WvW, while zergs fought, or in a dragon event.

That is the worst possible system. It guarantees that every other week a T1 server is fighting a T3 server (#3 vs #7, best case scenario, #1 vs #9 in a perfect storm), and the like repeated in every tier – which is exactly what you are complaining about happening here randomly and only for one week at a time.

Anything could lead to the quick resolution of the current issues affecting all these people, from an idea to a small accurate observation.

I would probably start by clearing your GW2 cache, but I’m no expert, so that could easily be pointless (worth a shot until a dev answers, Idk :P)

It seems the patch has broken something that is affecting a lot of people, but this is just me speculating. I won’t even bother posting this on those other threads, as it will just get lost in all those replies :p

However, it does kitten me off whenever I see posts saying ANet doesn’t care or isn’t even looking into this, when I’m pretty sure that is the ONLY thing they are doing atm.

I still haven’t felt any effects of this particular issue, fortunatly.

Yea, and I understand where you’re coming from, of course. I’ve had my share of problems in the past regarding various different subjects, which just wouldn’t be fixed. Sure enough, in the vast majority of times, they were fixed. And while I do believe lag issues are/should be amongst the top priorities for the staff, dealing with them is no easy feat.

It doesn’t mean everything can be fixed in 3 days. I’ve had the same problems as you have, most likely. And while I am annoyed some issues still haven’t been solved, I know they are working on them.

I just want to add, please, if there is some sort of GvG in the future, let it not be in the mists, I hate having to use ridiculous sPvP builds instead of my PvE/WvW one.

Its WAY too low for a thief, he has clearly sacrificed everything to get that kind of stealth. He’s not insta-killing the enemy players, he’s not AoEing everything on the screen. Something is very, very wrong with his build. How could the commander even survive the initial hit without cheating, did he have like 5000 toughness??!!?

Thief need a buff and the video shows it very well.

Don’t go for extremes either, such as saying thieves need a buff. I don’t think they do, the class is very balanced as it is. People just hate the stealth and that’s that. They don’t care if a thief doesn’t do any damage at all, as that’s not the point many are trying to get across.
