I don’t agree with every specific detail, but desert BLs are here to stay and there are a lot of minor tweaks that would make it much more enjoyable.

I was by myself fighting a guardian and a mesmer halfway between garrison and cliffside and doing quite well, when boom, Moa! They got me down to about 3k health while morphed so I started tagging white moas as I was retreating. I was downed but I manage to kill one of the moas and rally. Then one of my servermates arrived and we stomped them both.
The lesson: those who live by the moa shall die by the moa! (If somewhat indirectly)

You think people haven’t tried that? Search “Blacktide hacker” on Youtube and dozens of videos will come up. I know the posters of several of those videos personally, and yes, they have sent them to exploits@arenanet.com. We know ANet has banned them at least once as they gave us a “public execution” video, but they have multiple accounts and keep on coming back.

It’s sad, just when you thought BT couldn’t possibly sink to a lower level…
I’m from WSR and remember how awful it was to see the entire T3 map flip to hackers in a few minutes. It caused a lot of our people to quit or not bother upgrading. If we’d also had to deal with a bunch of BT kittenes on our server I would have quit as well.
But fortunately for us the way the points are distributed there is almost no chance we’ll have to fight BT in the near future, just UW/FoW or FR/RoS (we’ll probably be seeing you next week).

I haven’t been on WSR since beta but I’ve been on it for over 2 years now and I don’t plan on going anywhere. I won’t lie and say there is never ever any drama at all and everyone hold hands singing kumbaya all day, but there is very little drama, especially compared to other servers I was on before WSR. While our community is small compared to a lot of the larger servers, it is very close-knit and almost everyone knows each other. As soon as golem week ends, server wvw pop changes are announced and implemented the following Tuesday. Coincidence? Probably not, guessing the event was so they could test their code.
I enjoyed golem week for about 2 days – I run havoc and would melt their golems down with conditions. It was so much fun to watch pve-ers in omega panic when I reflected their rockets back at them. I must have killed at least 50gold worth of golems. But having 5 omega golems come to destroy my flame ram eventually made me sad and took a break for the rest of the week.
While I didn’t like the implementation of this event, I like the idea of having a WvW flux as long as they last no more than 1 week (oh god the horrible memories of the no swords debacle) and maybe once every 3 months. Maybe instead something like a lightly-armored golem event where the golems are faster, maybe half the build cost, but much less health/armor and no extra damage could have worked. Point being minor changes like increasing damage siege does by 25-33% or reducing their supply cost by that much, changing the speed/supply carried by/points given by killing yaks etc.

As one of WSR’s opportunistic American nightcappers, I’ll take it as a complement.
