Rule #1: If you get an e-mail that’s important enough, you’ll be able to find information about it if you log into the website manually.

If you get an e-mail that says “You’re going to be banned!”, if it’s real, you would have flags on your account of some kind. Maybe you have e-mails (on this website, not your yahoo Gmail or whatever you use), notifications, alerts….

I ignore 100% of e-mails I get regarding account status. If I was in trouble I’d know in game. The only e-mails I even look at from Anet are updates/new information (patches etc)

Between Guardian and staff Elementalist – are they both accepted? (Will I get a group with both? WvW/PvE/Bosses?)

Can a healing Ele solo heal? (if that even exists in this game, I don’t know anything about GW2) Or is a healing elementalist a support that requires someone else to also heal?

I’m leaning towards elementalist at the moment…

I’m looking to start playing GW2, and I’ve always been a support/healer. So I figured I’d get the opinion of the community…

If I wanted to play a support class (but not pure healing), what would I roll?

Assuming I wanted to heal, I’d roll a guardian, right?

Edit: And actually, just as a bonus question since I’m here… if I wanted to play a DPS class, which one is the rarest? I almost never DPS, but if I make an alt or something, it would be nice to know.

…I’m trying to install GW2, does the patch seriously have to reset every time I close the launcher? My internet is too terrible for that! (Can’t get anything else where I live, hurry up Google Fiber.)

I let it download over night, got like 20% of it (DSL, woo), but I need my internet to work from home, so I had to close it. When I re-opened, patch restarted. After work I let it download a 1-2 hours, then closed it just to see if it was a fluke. Nope, restarts every single time I close/open it… but I can’t leave it open 24/7…
I can’t just leave it open for 3 days to finish…

Is there a fix for this?

Windows, 64-bit.

3 files in folder – GW2.TMP, GW2 launcher, GW2.dat
