Yes I saw it. I meant based on your screenshot I couldn’t reazlie the difference between what you see and what I see in game. You said it stretches out back after opening and closing it again. I meant you could take a before and after screenshots so we could see the difference.
Oh I see, well that screenshot would be the “after” result.
No matter how much smaller I make it or where I move it, it always ends up the way you see it in that screen shot.
I tried the -repair command and it did nothing.

Not sure if it’s the case but the Friend list panel was expanded due LFG tool, now it’s larger than it was before. But if you mean it’s getting more stretched than it became after they implanted the LFG tool, then I don’t know if you be a bug or not. Try to take a screenshot of it when you have resized and another of when it comes back stretched out, then we can see what changed. For me it looks normal on your screenshot.

Hmm..have you tried adjusting it in the Character Selection screen. I don’t even know if that is possible, but you can access it there. Just an idea.
I don’t have that issue, nor have I read about anyone else having it….have you tried the -repair command?
I’ve tried in character selection, problem still there.
How do you apply the repair command?
No matter how I re-size or where I move the friends list when I open/close it, it comes back stretched out and on the left side of my screen.
It’s been a few weeks that my friends list has been like this.
I’ve even re-installed the game, anyone else experiencing this or is it a unique issue?
2 new bosses, 1 permanent, 1 temporary, a list of achievements to do.
Nothing other than living story till April…
I’ve had GW2 off the radar for a while, just came back.
What’s suppose to happen in April after the four updates?

Hello,
So I recently logged in from about a 4 month break, played for a few days, bought gems a few times, and I got an email this morning saying.
“Guild Wars Account Will Be Shut Down Inform

Is this legit? Because my gmail is notifying me with this message about this specific email.
“Be careful with this message. Similar messages were used to steal people’s personal information. Unless you trust the sender, don’t click links or reply with personal information.”
The email of the sender is the same as the one that I get notifications from when I purchase gems.
Don’t know why I never thought of that but it was the “problem”, Thank you.
The skill ‘Tsunami Slash" does not work on my charr warrior in PvE.
Whether I press number 5 or click on the skill it won’t function in any way, it doesn’t even go on cool down either. But this skill works perfectly fine in sPvP/Heart of the Mists.
However, I also have a norn warrior and this skill works both in PvE and sPvP.

Why would they not add Cantha after they already showed off how fantastic it could look like with the jadesea-fractal. Though, I was really looking forward to ally with the kurzick again. T-T
Kurzicks/Luxons don’t exists anymore, the emperor of Cantha raised an army, killed off the factions, and united the continent under one banner.
Kisu’s successor, Emperor Usoku, raised the Canthan military by spending millions in gold and conquered the still-warring vassal states of the Luxons and Kurzicks, forcing them fully into the empire once more. With this done, he then drove out all non-humans and closed the borders to Cantha. Said to be tyrannical and fierce, those who disagreed with Emperor Usoku left their homeland and sought refuge in Elona and Tyria.
“One thing that has always bothered me with the thief is the initiative mechanic. Most of the time I felt like there was no point in weapon swapping as a thief since your initiative stays the same amount anyway and you’d have to wait for regen. I’d prefer cool downs tbh, or if Anet can give us +4 initiative every time we swap weapons”
Why? Weapon swapping is a mechanic and there’s no reason why this mechanic should give you a bonus any more than swapping your armor. As a concept, it is ridiculous for a ranger to put away one bow and get out another bow because it will be faster somehow. Not having artificial incentives to swap weapons seems like a strange reason to dislike the thief.
Its not so much wanting a bonus as wanting less of a penalty.
Ranger: burns all 4 skills on thier sword/dagger, switches to shortbow has 4 more cooldowns
Thief: Burns all initiative on sword/dagger, switches to shortbow still has no initiative. The bonus of the initiative system is we get to choose how we spend it but thats not as much freedom as non-thieves seem to think.
As it stands the grand master trait that gives initiative on swap allows you access to 1 use of the cheapest skill available to that weapon set (3 initiative cost)
Ideally swapping giving 6 (in some fashion, 3 base 3 traited or such) would allow you to utilize upto 2 of your cheapest attack or 1 of any of the others upon swapping, alleviating that lack of reasons to ever consider swapping (outside of fleeing or auto attack range changing) without giving people that much to complain about as even 2 of the cheap attacks is still fairly inferior to a full set of 4 more cooldowns.
This is what I exactly meant, and thank you for your insight on the class!
Mostly you either have to work the initiative into your build (my way is utilizing the initiative downtime as a time to reposition/burn utils/set up other stuff) or try and build to ignore it (this will most likely mean the loss of damage traits however)
Having to set your traits to just be able to have enough initiative on weapon swap for the loss of damage (that isn’t much to begin with) says something is wrong with the way the class was designed. I’d seriously wish Anet would take more consideration into this mechanic.
As for builds I usually liked the D/D & SB set up. But I’ll try anything really, I just don’t like full zerker builds. I like being DPS/Supportive at the same time. I can’t find any decent thief builds/guides to get me started.
I’d really appreciate your help.
I’ve always loved the assassin/rogue archetype in any RPG. My main in GW1 was an assassin. I leveled up my thief within the first week of release and a little after the karka update I put this class on the shelf. Because he feels so lack luster (to me at least) in a PvE setting compared to other classes. Other classes would just be more optimal than a thief whether it be the role of DPS or support.
Since then I’ve leveled and fully geared a Guardian, Warrior, and Mesmer. Enjoying each class respectively for about 200 hrs each but I’ll probably end up dropping the guardian. However, the War/Mes will stick around. One thing that has always bothered me with the thief is the initiative mechanic. Most of the time I felt like there was no point in weapon swapping as a thief since your initiative stays the same amount anyway and you’d have to wait for regen. I’d prefer cool downs tbh, or if Anet can give us +4 initiative every time we swap weapons
All I see on these forums are builds for sPvP or WvW. Can anyone show me how it’s done in PvE for thief? I really don’t want to let this class go and make it my “main” again.
Thanks for these guys! I appreciate it.
Can anyone recommend a good sword/shield build + guide? I really like the weapons and I’m sick of greatsword builds for both guards and wars. Thanks in advance.
I’m having the same isssue as well, but now the client is telling me that my password is incorrect..
So I created a Mesmer and after I reached level 15 I came to the conclusion that I found the Mesmer boring, and couldn’t get into the profession.
But I did come along some posts on the Guild Wars 2 subreddit saying that the Mesmer is typically boring the first 50 levels and it really gets fun and rewarding at higher levels.
I’ve never been a caster player other than my necro alt in GW1 so I really wanted to have one in GW2. I’ve leveled a Thief, Guardian, and Warrior in that order. I’ve had the most fun with the Guardian and it’s become my main. I originally wanted to main a thief since I mained an assassin in GW1 but the class just feels so lackluster compared to others imo. So I was hoping the Mesmer could fill in that gap. From my perspective it seems that the Mesmer is the most “thiefy” out of the casters, plus having a great amount of utility. I really like the Guardian because it is a balance of good damage (not as much as a warrior) and support/survivability.
So Mesmer grandmasters, share your wisdom with me and tell me what I can do with this class. Or am I better off playing an ele?
Still looking for a guild!
Hello
I’m new to SoS, transferred before the server lock down with some friends and I am in need of a guild. I’m a semi-hardcore player with a little over 500 hrs of play time on my account and my main focus is PvE, but I do like to dabble in WvW from time to time.
I have a lvl 80 Thief and a lvl 80 Guardian. I’m currently working on a Warrior alt. I am a full time college student and I have a part-time job. So my schedule may be limited at times.
Looking for a hardcore PvX guild (US based is preferred, only because I want people to be on when I’m on.) that is active, friendly, and knows how to have a good time! I’ve been guildless for about a month and a half because of guild drama plus the lack of descent leadership. I’m not only looking for a new guild and guild mates, I plan on making friends!
So just leave your guild info here and I will contact you
or send Kalivan Zvonkovic an in-game mail.
Note: I do like to play other games now and then on my PC and PS3. So I will take some breaks from GW2 from time to time. I’m a gamer…it’s hard NOT to play other awesome games!
Game crashes on loading screen or shortly after getting in-game

So here’s my dilemma.
I have been playing since the 3 day headstart and haven’t any issues with game. Until
sometime mid September my GW2 client had started crashing. At first I let it be, figuring that the game was still new and that it may be a bug.
It wasn’t until sometime after that I had realized that the crashes only happen when I log in and load in for the first time, during the loading screen, or shortly after I have loaded into a zone. After realizing it I tried recreating the problem by going to character select and switching between characters until it happened again. It never happens when I’m doing PvE, WvW, sPvP, or dungeons. The game crashes no more than 5-10 times a full day of play.
I have tried system restore, uninstalling Guild Wars 1, and uninstalling Guild Wars 2.
I just re-installed GW2 and tried recreating the problem once more. With no surprise it still happens.
I had thought maybe it would be a hardware issue but I realized it can’t be, because I also play other games such as BF3, Borderlands 2, War of the Roses, and lots more. Those games don’t crash at all.
Here are my specs:
i5 2500k @ 3.3 GHz
ASRock Extreme3 Gen3
EVGA GTX 560 ti (w/latest drivers)
Xclio 550w PSU
Corsair Vengeance 8GB @ 1600 Mhz
Maybe it is a driver issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
