2 files remaining, download dies after it supposedly downloads a single file in the vicinity of 253MB. Once it reaches that file size download speed spikes to 100MB/s and then plummets to 0KB/s and then all download information disappears. Game is NOT playable for me, I’ve had this issue for 5 or 6 days and no item in the support pages has helped much.
Adding -image to the shortcut appeared to work, and it brought me down from 6 files remaining to 2, at which point it ceased to do anything.
I tried all the possible fixes again, none of which helped. Also I have no Guild Wars 2 folder in My Documents, so no local.dat file there, though it does exist in AppData\Roaming but I’m not sure about messing with that one.

Adding my two cents. I’m having issues with a file over 260 MB, first of 6 files remaining after installing the game from scratch. Everything seems to be going fine, downloading at 5MB/sekittenil the reported size of the file (to the left where it says "Downloading: X MB) reaches anywhere between 255 MB and 268 MB, where download speed drops to 0 and the download gets stuck. No amount of waiting makes it change and none of the solutions in the help section of the site does any good.
