Guild Wars 2

So I would like to ask:
1. Who here, still come to forums but play the game much less?
2. When did you start playing less?
3. Why / What caused the decline in time spent?

1 – I’m not playing the game at all now. I come to look at the forums to see if the game will back away from the alteration of the gameplay to grind.

2 – Frankly LOTRO is my main game. But I used to log into GW2 to level my Norn. My hours in the game were ramping up until the patch. Then I stopped playing.

3 – The new gear grind which turns the game into another WOW clone. WoW does all of this better. If I want to grind for gear, I’ll go pay Blizzard for a more enjoyable experience.

I don’t have any hopes of this changing. But I’m a bit in shock over this change which was so quick it didn’t make any sense. I can only conclude that whoever is running the game now (Nexon?) wanted cash in hand NOW and did not want to wait to watch the game grow. Since it can only make money by box sales and milking existing customers., get ready to watch more pump n dump schemes. Also Hardcore players better watch out, because the penny counters are watching and they will be sure to make changes in order to make it necessary to use the cash shop.

As you post this question on the forums, your character has already become outdated.

You are not in the demographic this game is aiming for now. So yes, to your question.

Basically this is it for me. I still play LOTRO and I’m quite happy with ROR. So not all is lost.

But after my interest in LOTRO flags, that will be it.

I really wanted to be part of a game that didn’t have gear grinding as its central ethos. It seemed like GW2 was that game. Guess not.

Did you take part in the other events?

I think the events are gated and only worthwhile to those who were present during the previous events.

Yup, it’s a day when you look at the Calendar and you just sigh because it’s not April 1st.

But now we do know what will be fodder for the roasting during Blizzard’s next April Fool’s Day festivities.

This game just hit a humongous iceberg and is now listing badly. Most of the players are on this forum playing “Nearer My God To Thee”. There is a horrible “injoke” in the game called Under New Management.

Whoever was responsible for the current changes has managed to grab defeat from the hands of glory. Not THAT is quite a feat. I’ve never seen the like of it before.

And somewhere in Blizzard headquarters, someone is laughing fit to split.

This game is obviously geared to an Asian audience. We know they like grinders. Obviously GW2 wasn’t keeping them occupied.

It takes more than just underage looking female avatars in skimpy clothing to keep them occupied, I guess.

Well…the gear change was disappointing. And I’m even more disappointed that I can’t get a refund, but I’m chalking it up to experience.

I will never pre-order a game again. I won’t listen to hype again from gaming sites and starry eyed fans.

If I wanted to play Warcraft, I would still be paying Warcraft for the Warcraft experience. And if I want that experience, I will pay the best in the business…Warcraft NOT Anet NOT EA or any other game company that creates poor substitutes.

Good luck with the game. But I have a feeling this is going the same road as SWTOR. Unfortunately a F2P conversion stunt can’t even be pulled here.

I agree that this gear should have no impact on WvW.

Most of us here have experienced the purgatory that was WAR, no need to experience it again. I can go back to WAR for that.

I just came back to the game only to find that Nelson from the Simpsons designs it.
