Vial of Salt is a max level guild focused primarily on raid and community.
We currently host 3 static raiding teams, and a floating learning raid once a week.
Different teams hold different standards, and expect varying degrees of experience.
We do not require 100% rep.
If you’re brand new to raiding, and just want to see what it’s all about, learning raids are a perfect way to start, and our academic officers are always happy to get you on the right path.
If you are already an experienced raider, consider starting a team with Vial of Salt! We’ll take care of the recruiting, and throw some of our more experienced players in the mix to help you kick it off. Our leadership council is friendly and willing to help, and there’s always quite a few of us on Discord at any given time.
Members are encouraged (although not required) to hang out in Discord, as many of us are frequently playing other games together when we aren’t on Guild Wars 2. Currently we’re on a FTB Minecraft kick, but we change it up pretty frequently when the Guild Wars 2 content feels stale.
Our static raid times can be seen below. Teams are typically “full”, but we often need fill-ins. Frequently our fill-ins quickly become permanent members of the roster, one way or another. If you’d like to join, just fill out our short app here and we’ll get in touch.

So um, regarding alacrity on revenant… while it is a really odd choice (from a flavor standpoint), it’s also well, pointless. The revenant can’t provide quickness, you still need 2 mesmers for full uptime on quickness on the party as best I can tell, and revenant can’t provide 100% alacrity uptime. They basically still don’t have a place because you still need two mesmers, and if you have two mesmers, why give alacrity at all? They bring no unique buffs, so they can’t replace a second druid either, even with grace hitting 10.
Ithilwen.1529ANET gave away alacrity as it did confusion and Moa.. thereby invalidating an entire HoT specialization, the Chronomancer.
This is a joke right? You paid for a new specialization.. but we’ve decided to take it away from you.. because reasons.
I’d almost agree with this if the alacrity change looked viable. It’s weird enough that they’d give them alacrity (instead of a unique buff that fits the class flavor), but you can’t seem to have 100% uptime on it, and the fact that rev can’t provide quickness means they can’t actually replace a mesmer, and still have no place in the meta. I’m very confused about this change.
I’m actually really confused about them adding alacrity. As best as I can tell, you still need two mesmers for quickness uptime, meaning there’s no point in bringing a rev instead of a second mesmer. I hope I’m mistaken on this, I really want to understand the intent of giving them alacrity. Especially since from a class fantasy standpoint… I’m not sure how invoking a centaur gives you access to essentially time magic…
I’ve seen this suggestion on reddit a few times, how would you feel about introducing some critters (or even townsfolk) to the guild halls as they get leveled up? It would be great to see some life in there, even if they were just friendly versions of wildlife we already see in the nearby zones.
Hey guys,
Today I hit 400 scribe, and ran into a couple of issues.
First off, I found a craftable recipe at 400 scribe requiring 15 glob of ecto, 5 glob of dark matter, and 1 grandmaster’s finishing kit. The result shows that I have the materials, but can’t craft.
Secondly, after crafting the griffon fountain (beautiful, by the way), it appears that water isn’t flowing properly.
Lastly, to the best of my knowledge Essence of Light (needed for illuminated fountains) doesn’t appear to be in the game. This may not be a bug, and we could be missing something, but it doesn’t quite feel that way.
Look forward to seeing these things in action :)
