For EU i’d say WL.

RG is by far much known and they are really good there’s no doubt about it but WL is way above in term of battle strategy. The style is maybe less impressive but the efficiency is just insane.

KAZ has proven to be really good too and i always loved fighting against them.

Never forget that VS isn’t a “made for WWW” server. We are the same server since the release. We didn’t have any significant moves in or out (i’m talking big guild / alliance really game changing not individuals or 5 men guilds). We face many ennemies with all kind of different playstyle. We had to adapt.

We canot play against SFR like we used to play against FSP or AS.
We are a pug server. We have to adapt our playstyle to that fact.
Trust me when i say that nobody like massive zerg. In fact due to our nature we like multiple fronts and small / medium size groups fighting everywhere. But you came to us with massive zergs. I’m not saying this is bad you have really big guilds and you play accordingly but we had to adapt to that fact. So sometimes we have to regroup in a big zerg. Otherwise we don’t stand a chance against yours.

I can assure you that many guilds on VS search open field fights. I am a member of FM and i can tell you we search for good fights and some of you know that. WL is also one of those guild LP and Meta love that too and i can go on and on with the list.

But we aren’t playing on the same scale. When we are 20-25 and you are 40-50 of course we won’t engage we all know that the skill is important but can’t overcome an important difference of number.

I’d like to take that time to set things straight. VS isn’t a server of cowards, cheaters and whiners.
We are a server with many face. We fight with the tools we have been given. We respect our ennemies as long as they respect us.

Congratulations on finding the perfect counter to our playstyle you are the first to really achieve that.

I will talk just a few about nightcapping. Nobody on VS thinks that it is a problem. We are using it like everyone else. Without a nightcrew you can’t pretend to be a T1 server. But i’m sure you can understand the frustration of some of us. Our FR tag prevent us to recruit from other timezone. Don’t say we can have canadians. We tried and they aren’t interested and they certainely aren’t a huge playerbase.

So yeah we have to manage on our own. So yes you have an advantage. But i’d like to make it clear that we don’t think this is the only reason of your actual domination. It’s one reason amongst others.

I truly respect my actual ennemies (most of them at least) and i hope that you can do the same.

VS deserve the most respect as a server. They have maintained their T1 status from week 1 and continue to push for T1 victories. Their achievements far outweigh yours.

Nice try but no we still haven’t Canadians on VS. Maybe one day your dream will be true but not for now.
Is it so embarassing to be beaten by french (and Belgium and Swiss) people that you have to find some sort of excuses and make up some storys about Canadians ?

After Wed. night I started seeing all these different guild names that I had never seen in the past 3 days of fighting. Now we go into the current week of fighting and vz has almost triple the numbers at night and the zerg is relentless. I just got off the EB server xmas eve 11pm my time our keep was taken by no less the 60 vz lmaoooo it was so bad I could only see 10 at a time and then the zerg just followed. I mean it has to be like 5am there in Frenchie land right? Do all the French hate Santa or something Now I am not saying anything about recruiting because any server must recruit to survive but, something obviously happened between this week and last. I think honesty would be the best route for some of those guys complaining lol.

As a VS player since the very beginning end a member of Grand Cross i can assure you that there haven’t been any transfer in our favor (maybe some isolated players but not more). We face you with our regular forces as we do since few months now.
We have a good nightcrew we won’t deny that but we do not have any guild from outside Europe. We may have some players from NA or Asia but it’s a very small amount dispatched in EU guilds.
VS isn’t in T1 since the beginning for no reason, we are because we learn very soon to organize our server and especially our nightcrew.

I am myself part of our nightcrew and i can assure you that you are often more than us at night you just don’t know yet how to organize yourself to counter us on 4 maps.

SFR is indeed a strong server but don’t jump to conclusion too quickly. A 1 timezone server isn’t number 1 for no reason

Nice to see some fair play and fun between ennemies. Moments like that make us respect you a lot more and it’s always nice to humanize the fight. I’ll never fight a random red player with a CIR tag but maybe you or one of your friend now.

And please ArenaNet never nerf the grouping with ennemies !!! It’s the only way to actually talk with other players and it’s nice and harmless.

Dude it’s World vs World not Player vs Player if you want to fight 1 vs 1 it’s not the place we are stuff and spec to fight in groups.

I’m sorry if you get bored but maybe you haven’t choose the right game.

While a lot of us Blacktiders that fought from T4 to T1 have taken a break from WvW for various reasons best not mentioned, I think it should be mentioned – and often! – that VS is inspiration to all servers in GW2.

Why? They know they will lose all in morning – they still fight hard, not for 1 week or 2 weeks, they fight like that for 4 weeks now. That is what you call dedication to your server! Hell, some guilds couldn’t even handle it for 2 days nevermind 4 weeks and ongoing!

It’s hard to fight you. We lost a great part of our forces thanks to lag / clipping / lost of interest (choose your favorite) and we are working really hard to keep the server spirit as high as possible.

BT is actually the most impressive server i’ve seen since the release. Great guilds, large timezone coverage and most of all a real fighting spirit. I wish we could do that on VS but our FR tag will make such a thing nearly impossible.

But don’t worry we will keep on fighting til our last breathe. After all we do not stayed on T1 this whole time to fall apart so easily

Ps: an alliance between VS and PA would be a good thing but we seen the first time that such an alliance is impossible so don’t worry you probably won’t have to fight a 2vs1

The balance issue must be frustrating for both VS and AS, but comeon VS you had no opposition at night for weeks.

Deso has definately improved as rather than getting steamrolled by AS in prime time like last time we manage to hold our own.

First of all yes desolation is a lot better than it used to be.

Secondly we love to have an opposition at night. We wanted that since the release. But there is a difference between an opposition of the same size and an overwhelming zerg.

If ruin was a 30 people guild it would be fun we would fight on equal ground at night. But you are far more than that and the frustrating part is that we can’t do anything against such a number.

The really strong issue here is simple.

To compete with desolation and maybe some other server in the future we have to recruit NA guilds.
Personnaly i’m okay with that i don’t have a problem with english.

But let’s be honnest for a moment. You’re a large US guild and thinking about joining EU bracket. Wich server will you decide on ?

Yes you will go to en english / International server.
So FR/DE/SP servers will have a great disadvantage. Of course there are French Canadians but their numbers is ridiculously (not sure about this one ;p ) small when you look at the US potential.

So at the end if the dynamic stay that way we will have UK/International servers with 24/7 coverage through EU + US guilds and FR/DE/SP with only a partial coverage of their own country + few expatriates.

You can’t deny that recruiting US guild on a French Server will be far more complicated.
