Why did you merge top tier servers?

Ive been in Tarnished coast since the game was released, we have ALWAYS been a high population server, and we have ALWAYS had a high population in wvw, we never needed to be merged with another server, we didnt need the population boost, especially now.

ITS 6AM AND IM WAITING IN A QUEUE OF 40, (200+ mid day and evening)

an hour if nopt two waiting to play, I cant jump in queue because I can only afford to play an hour or two in the first place.

The borderlands dont do it justice, there arent groups that run, everyone rolls on their own, you cant get anything done in them…and those too are queued a large majority of the day.

Why did we get merged with Kaineng, and why did anyone think these top servers needed a merge in the first place? You guys said yourselves that you could choose to merge or not to merge, that you could combine servers where they are needed, and not do it to those that dont…so why did we get merged? We had 90-100% queue up time already…Im so glad we now have TWO servers fighting for space now.

Sorry i sound bitter, but for gods sake I wont actually be able to play the part of the game I most enjoy because of these wait times….

Collaborative Development Topic- Game Modes

I would like to see a few modes added in but the major one I want is this.

UNDERWORLD AND FISSURE OF WOE REDUX

I believe that this is something that the game is missing out on. These areas were the Elite areas in GW1, and have quite a different feel to them than Fractals or dungeons.

Enter The Underworld or Fissure of Woe through a Portal to the Mists.

The team will be consisting of 5-8 players.

I would think being an elite area it will drop rare crafting materials used to trade for special Weapons and armor only found inside of FoW and UW as well as an end chest

Concept A dungeon-esque elite end game area for the more hardcore, and or adventurous players to enjoy.

They will be large maps involving specific points that work like a sort of group of quests or objectives, obtaining items, killing bosses, and defending areas. The area will have 11 or 12 objectives of which you need to complete to get the end chest, which will also have an NPC along side that will take your materials you have collected in trade for weapons special items and armor.

The cool part of these dungeons is you had those special weapons that could drop from chests, and you had obsidian armor, but you also had mobs that dropped COMPLETELY different weapons than what you would find in the regular world, Shadow weapons, Eternal Weapons, the Storm bow, as well as the Chaos Axe (Quite a few were hoping for a Chaos weapon set )

This was what I had such a blast on in the original guild wars, and what I feel is missing from this game as of right now. It involved team mechanics that went beyond player roles, it used thought out strategies, and it was fun to help teach new players to play the map. It also gave us something to work towards at the end when the game was done.

My verdict of the game as of right now is pretty good, its GORGEOUS, it has splendid world design, and I love exploring it, but its lacking in that little something at the end of the game when youve finished most everything there is. We can run dungeons, but GW1 proved it wasnt really enough, and GW2 has proven it as well. Fissure of Woe and Underworld are a blast and were something a little different that set the franchise apart from other MMOs, it was a dungeon yes….But also, not quite. It handled its self very differently.

Maybe Ill get in on the bandwagon and yell out GUILD VS GUILD as well

Guild Halls! Alliances!

PLEASE Bring this back, Its more than a want when it comes to guild halls, I absolutely loved them in GW1, they were GREAT places for a guild to get togeather and relax by themselves where it doesnt involve killing piles of monsters…and lets face it, with the roleplay community relatively strong, and as well as the number of serious guilds going, a guild hall would be a great addition for guild meetings or in other cases Roleplay.

Lets also make it a point that a lot of people use this game as a chatroom as much as they do a game, and a place to sit and be away from the cities and enemies sounds like a great place to me. The original guild wars had it, and it was heavily utilized.

Snowy forests are beautiful

I had a couple spots in this game that I absolutely adore…Hunters Pitfalls and Taigan Groves.

Arenanet, you make BEAUTIFUL scenery, and these snow covered trees with the cold snow, cold stone forts/steads, and warmth of the fires inside are some of the most immersive thought provoking parts of the game, its just depressing knowing that these things are so few and far between.

What I would give to have a map that includes LARGE portions of snow covered trees and cliffs, something that could really catch the eye, something that would make me say “WOW” like when I first found these places.

When I first started playing the game I was in awe of the beauty of this game but there is just one thing that stood out and that was the snowy forests of the shiverpeaks, that was the one thing that reminded me most of home in upstate new york. Its just that little something that grabs me and makes me just have to stop and look, no matter how many times Ive ran through it already.

Please A-net I would love to see more. Forests have that mystical nature about them, but theres just something special about when theyre covered in that glistening snow that sets them apart.

Snow covered forests are beautiful.
