I tried looking for this option but can’t seem to find it.

It’s important I change my e-mail address soon because my provider will close it’s e-mail services in the coming weeks. Is there a way for me to change my e-mail address? Is there a number I have to call or an e-mail address I need to write to?

What gives you any more of a right to play and dictate the score than oceanic players do?

They’re our servers thus the “EUROPEAN” and “AMERICAN” listings, not “Oceanic/Australian/Kiwi”. So yes, as a European playing on a European server I have every right to express my opinion on the matter and suggest they balance the game best.

We weren’t given oceanic servers, ANet obviously wanted us to play with you guys so stop crying.

You weren’t given servers because there’s too few of you to actually populate them. Face the facts here. You’re the minority and you’re causing unbalanced WvWvW making it impossible to be at all plausible for a competitive game type. Even on these forums there are many guilds recruiting Oceanic players with the intent to WvW when all other servers are offline and have even stated this outright in their recruitments. How is that fun for anyone when you outnumber two other servers 300 to their collective 100?

All I see from players like you is constant complaining over possible fixes to balance. Instead of kittening about our suggestions that will ultimately fix the situation why don’t you come up with some other solution?

You just contradicted yourself… so we ARN’T populated enough to have our own server…. but we ARE populated enough to dominate wvwvw while you are asleep…. SO you just cancelled yourself out… and basically just said, that… you can’t beat us so you don’t want to even have to try….

You’re missing out the fact that during the hours of 12am to 8am other servers that aren’t Oceanic centric have far less active players at those times because they’re asleep. So, no, i’m not contradicting myself.

It’s ironic that the OP would talk about how everyone who wants to work towards balance is self centered when what he wants is to continue a broken system that only benefits him and the few in his time zone.

As so many Oceanic players are fond to use this phrase i’ll try it in your direction: There’s more to the world than Australia and New Zeland.

What? So shutting down WvW at our prime time or nerf our points at our prime time is a balanced solution?

There are things the community can fix on their own without the need of crying and selfishly ask for (I, ME, MYSELF ONLY). Your guild can always start an alliance with Asian guilds and work on creating a global community in your server. This is what we did in Stormbluff we created a community from all around the world before even the game came out.

Many Alliances did the same because it was obvious you needed a global presence in the server to make WvW a true 24/7 war.

Face the facts buddy, the server’s prime time is that of the majority of players. The majority of players aren’t Oceanic. You want 1/15th(And that’s being generous!) of the entire population of GW2 to be put ahead of the 14/15th’s? I don’t think so. You’re being extremely selfish.

It’s broken because points are raked up 24/7.

Between the hours of 12am to 8am WvW points should not be counted. During these hours you should not be able to upgrade your castles, towers or place spam arrow carts(SM is notorious for this) or any other type of siege bar battering rams.

Problem fixed. A competitive across the board experience.

Alliances were expected and even commented on as an exciting dynamic to WvWvW by the developers a while back. Their understanding of it was servers would team up on the winning server in an attempt to subdue them from demolishing both servers. It balances it out.

It’s happened on my server where two servers would team up on us because previously we utterly destroyed them. It worked too and we got hammered.

Like I said in another thread, I’m up for “screwing” Oceanic players if that what it takes to save WvW for North American (and European) players.

The combined NA and EU player base dwarfs anyone in Australia/New Zealand. ArenaNet will do what they have to do to save this huge amount of paying customers.

I know it sucks, but that’s capitalism.

Not sure what EU countries you are talking about because the timezone differences affect them too. Should they have to stay up later or sleep earlier because NA players want it during their peak hours? You’d have to screw over the whole of the Oceanic zone including all Asian countries and the EU countries in order to make it an NA only server. And even then many NA players who work late and come home so they can only play at weird hours would be affected. So when you think about it, your lil group of NA players who play during peak hours aren’t actually bigger than the weird hour NA players + NZ+AU+Asia+EU players combined.

NA servers are based in Texas.

EU servers are based in Germany.

All servers have time zones locked to where the server is located.

Also, US servers don’t play vs EU servers.

EU players won’t be getting shafted in this.

Also, Asian servers will most likely be added when Guild Wars 2 is officially released in Asian countries so using Asia as a meat shield is a moot point given that they’ll have their own seperate set of servers.

I thought there was a shield around orbs once places on alters that pushed players back, making them unable to touch it? Atleast this is what happened to me and others around our home borderland alter.

Am I missing something here?

I can’t see any option to quote directly so i’ll broadly address Oceanic concerns regarding my comment on locking points, upgrades and siege between 12am and 8am server time.

1. Join an EU server. – You’re roughly GMT +10 which would place the start of the lockout at 10am for you and the end at 6pm. If you work, go to school or college this would be a completely valid period for you to play and in peek hours. From there you have all of 6pm to 10am to play to your hearts content free of any shackles.

2. You won’t like this but you’re such a small part of the player base that you have no right to dictate how the game should be balanced around you. It’s just how it is.

3. If you have an issue then lobby for an Oceanic servers and have those servers operate around your time zone.

Besides all this WvW would operate as normal, you could still play a valuable part in WvW when you take the Mists while other servers sleep and capture towers, keeps and camps. You just won’t be able to upgrade them and the points would be locked.

In PvE and WvW I have no elite under water skill. In sPvP I have whirlpool by default.

it’s lag. you don’t want to hear that, but that’s what it is. i’ve had it happen 2 or 3 times, but it was an obvious lag spike.

You’re wrong. It’s not lag. If it were lag my abilities wouldn’t hit visible enemies as soon as I cast them.

A long with a lot of other bugs this needs to be addressed ASAP. I’ve tried turning my settings to their lowest with everything disabled and still i’ve experienced these pop-in’s. There’s not much difference for me in performance with maxed settings and lowest settings. In WvWvW it’s all the same but playable.

Fix Elementalists! (Dual Daggers)

Lately i’ve been messing around with my elementalist and picked a nice and fun PvP build with my Ele that works when my class doesn’t bug out(Which happens 3/4’s of the time, thanks for that =/ ).

I use Dual Daggers in sPvP. It’s fun, has decent gap closers and deals decent damage while taking full advantage of all of your attunements which, i’m presuming, is exactly what the developers wanted in Elementalists and not sticking to the one attunement spamming 2, 3 and 5 when off CD(Certainly the case with Staff and Fire attunement especially in PvE). As you can tell, being dual daggers, it’s a close combat build. It works, you can heal and do damage but that’s worthless when your main gap closing abilities are completely broken and only work 1/4 of the time. Specifically i’m talking about Ride The Lightning and Magnetic Grasp.

We’re all too aware of the bugs in RTL and i’m surprised this hasn’t been fixed yet. It’s a huge deal! More often than not you’ll stun yourself, being open to enemies to run away from you and use abilities against you. When you use RTL you almost always get stuck on terrain and for some ridiculous reason RTL decides to take a path with obstacles in it’s way getting stuck on trees or just stopping mid transit for no reason at all. You will literally have a clear path and halfway through RTL will decided to stop. Fix it, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be fixed. It’s a huge flaw and must be addressed.

Magnetic Grasp: Two problems with this ability.

1. It doesn’t connect half the time. You’re within range, there’s no obstacles in your path and there’s no other units or players around to hit instead and it won’t land on the target. I get that you can dodge it but when the player doesn’t dodge, is standing there or moving normally and you’re within range and it doesn’t land? That’s a problem. It needs to be fixed.

2. You manage to land the ability on the enemy but you’re flung twenty feet behind them. Why is this happening on release and why is it happening two weeks after release with no word on fixing it?

There’s also Updraft that doesn’t work half the time either. If you use it you sometimes tumble FORWARD as opposed to backwards. Sometimes you don’t even tumble you just stand in the same spot.

All this needs to be addressed ASAP. The class is basically broken for sPvP because of these abilities. All we can do is run around with a staff and hope enemies are stupid enough to stand in our AoE abilities.

Now, let’s talk about Elementalist’s Down State. It sucks. I have no problem with it, I think it’s fine, rather I thought it was fine until I seen Warriors, Guardians, Mesmers, Assassins and Engineers Down State. Mesmers can go stealth and summon duplicates? Assassins can go stealth and randomly appear in a different location(Of which can be on ledges or hidden under some ledges??)? Both these classes can do this within the time it takes you to perform a Killing Blow and they can do it twice. That’s fifteen seconds of trying to kill these players, sometimes lasting longer than it normally takes to kill them! Warriors can get up out of Down State and have a chance to finish off their target. What do Elementalists get? We get a Mist Form for four seconds. A form that can’t pass through units, only lasts four seconds, takes upward of six seconds to cast and still carries DoT’s with it. It’s next to useless compared to other down states. The only use to this down state ability is in WvWvW when you’re in the phase of knocking down gates or defending castles.

We need RTL fixed.
We need Magnetic Grasp fixed.
We need Updraft fixed.
We need a buff to our down state considering how insane other down state abilities are. Also, Create a Lava Font when you’re downed? Useless. It deals so little damage and a Killing Blow can be used outside of the Lava Font’s AoE. Total waste of a trait.
