Haha, what happened to that build??
Ok so I think I’ll go necro in that case, I prefer vitality over toughness anyway, but I don’t have anything to base that on.
Hey, so I’ve decided to run a condition damage thief, and I went for Carrion Emblazoned armour to boost cond, plus it adds power and vitality. The runes I have at the moment are 6xUndead, which are good for cond, but add toughness which is a trait I don’t have anywhere else. My traits go 0, 0, 20, 20, 30 if it helps.
My question is; should I switch to Necro runes that increase vitality instead of toughness, which fits in better with the rest of my armour, or is that little bit of toughness going to be a help to me because of the way I’ve set up the thief?
Oh yeah definitely :p I didn’t really think it through ‘cause I don’t play it that often. Fair enough in that case.
Haha, nooo! Well then I have no interest in it and I say good day to you, AreaNet. Guess I’ll just have to wait it out for wvw map completion :\ Thanks though
I’m still a bit foggy on what this is, but what I’ve gathered is that you can temporarily visit another server without switching to it? If this is true, do you need a counterpart in the other server to invite you or whatever?
And finally, my real question, if this is all true, could I guest in a server that I’m playing against in wvw in order to complete those maps without waiting for rotation?
Oh really? I thought you had to collect them before you could have a look at them…I’ll have to try next time I’m on.
If you’re buying from a vendor you can right-click and press “Preview”, which will bring up a window of your character with the gear on…It only works in some instances though, and you can’t use it on the Black Lion Trading Post. That’s pretty much it, as far as I know.
Otherwise there are sites dedicated to tabulating all the different types of armour, etc. (http://www.gw2armorgallery.com), but yeah as I said, if you’re just wanting to know what a piece from a vendor looks like, right click.
Aaah ok. Well they are level 80, but as you said it’s probably not really worth the trouble/gamble and earning it other ways might be just as easy. Still have a piece of the exotic to get anyway, just planning ahead. Thanks.
This is probably a bit of a general, unanswerable question (ie. specific situation), but even a little bit of insight might help. A while ago I bought a set of “rare” armour that suited my needs and trans’d it with the cultural armour that I wanted for the final look. I’m now upgrading to an “exotic” set (since I now actually understand what I’m doing) and wondering if salvaging my current set with a black lion kit will be worth the materials it provides (then buying the cultural skin again), rather than trans’ing the look of my current set with the exotics (I’m low on cash/am generally curious). The set is Knight’s Noble, and the cultural will only cost me about 3G to replace (for the skin), with runes that are only about 8 silver each (so they’re not my main concern).
So basically, does salvaging rare armour yield enough sellable/valuable items to make it worth my while, or should I wait it out and just trans my current set?
Nah it wasn’t exotic; back when I spent all of my money on it I didn’t really know what to go for, so I was looking for power and toughness mainly (because of the low survival), but I’ve already transmuted it with the cultural armour I wanted which was stupid when I hadn’t sorted myself out yet, so salvaging would destroy that, haha :\ …I think I’d rather the power build, but all of the best major and minor traits (or at least, the ones I’m interested in) are in the condition/vit/tough, which is why I’ve had such a bad time trying to sort the traits out. Thanks though, guess I’ll have to look into better armour as well.
Hey, this is a pretty general question not specific to thief, but that’s what class I’m asking about. I bought a decent set of armour a while ago not really knowing what I was doing, but now I have to cater to it. My question is, if the stats it boosts are power, precision and toughness, should I boost those traits (using trait points) as well, or boost others because the armour will fill the void? Can’t decide between power or condition thief, so this might force me to choose one.
