Guild Wars 2

Hi there.

I picked up GW2 when it went free to play, and purchased the expansion a week or two ago. I’ve now got an 80 thief, which I love to play and am still trying to figure out how I like to play it best, and have taken a special interest in sPvP and WvW. I was originally from Eredon Terrace, but hightailed it out of there because we were bottom of the barrel, kitten tier, and I’d only ever seen max ten people on our Borderlands. It wasn’t fun, and not nearly what I expected after all I’d heard about it. It wasn’t until I started looking into WvW that I realized that I made the worst possible decision. After doing some research, I transferred over to Darkhaven yesterday and haven’t played anything but WvW since.

Being from Eredon Terrace, I still haven’t got the ropes of WvW past “put down flame ram, break door, take tower, get trampled by fifty people.” I’ve got a competitive streak, and I’d love to be able to play my class effectively while also contributing to something bigger than me. Maybe even save up and drop 300 gold on one of those fancy tags if I can someday (way, way someday, after I get Quip and its confetti footsteps) earn the title.

Also, like, people are fun, too. That shiny gold map completion star caught my eye a while ago, but I’ve learned that clearing maps gets really old, really fast without people to screw around with. It’s no fun winning (or losing) if you haven’t got people to share it with, and it’s rough trying to learn when you haven’t got anybody to show you the way.

I’d love to find a smaller guild that doesn’t treat this game like a job, but are serious and knowledgeable enough that I can trust the directions that they point me in to become a better player. Learning about and being good at things are fun to me, and I’ve been having a blast learning about the game and all it has to offer.

I’m nineteen, if that matters, but I’m comfortable with anybody over the age of fourteen. Everybody is awful at fourteen. I don’t want to be reminded of what being fourteen was like. I’m in the CST timezone, but I tend to pop on and off for quick bursts throughout the day, with my main playtime being anywhere after 6pm and before 4am.
