And your forgetting Howler that have been broken since forever why?
I knew I was missing something…. Yes Howler too
Figured I’d finally post something about this hoping it gets more attention. We haven’t had an update to any of the legendary weapons effects since 2013. This added new footfall effects to most of the main-hand weapons or made some effects more pronounced.
However it feels like The Minstrel, Rodgort, Howler, and The Flameseeker Prophecies were ignored when compared to some of the other legendaries, when compared to the others.
Excluding the underwater Legendaries (Which are a problem as well), these are the only ones without some sort of either skill effect, footfall effect, or aura in addition to the normal weapon particle effects. For the amount of time these take to acquire and with more and more weapons being released with particle effects, these weapons start to feel even more like a giant waste of time than the others.
Sure, it’s a weapon I can change the stats for at will, but that’s the only appeal of it. For as flashy as the other legendaries are, it would be nice if these offhand weapons had something other than just the particle effects, at least footfalls would be nice. Or maybe Aura and weapon effects too? Minstrel could cause music notes with all attacks or just make noises more than just when you pull it out. Hell you could make it a playable instrument. Rodgort could give some firey effect on all attacks. Howler could have wolves everywhere. Flameseeker Prophecies at least looks nice enough on its own to make up for the lack of anything else, but I’m sure there’s something with page effects that could happen.
Figured I’d bring this up after coming back after a year just to see my Minstrel slowly being outclassed after numerous additions to focus skins and lots of instruments using the same effects. I’ll end my massive rant here. Anyone else feeling the same way?
EDIT: Forgot Howler.
