My weapons were a bit out leveled. I upgraded and then grabbed toughness rings and earrings. Just gonna carry toughness set and power for now.
I hate staff, which sucks because it has some really good skills. I’m determined to play an arcane swordsman. I just need to find the right build.
I’ve really got my heart set on Greatsword/Sword+Sword but S+P alternate seems to be much more effective for me. I’ve been swapping back and forth.
I’m only level 17 presently and it’s starting to get rough. I need more survivability. Our healing options suck. My Silvari racial heals for way more than any of our class skills but it’s on a 45 sec cooldown. I rarely have 3 clones out when I need to heal because I’ve usually all ready shattered them for a damage burst, switched weapons, resummoned, shattered for the defense to stay alive in melee.
1v1 against an even leveled or slightly higher level mob is cake. They usually never touch me or only get one or two hits in. My issue is that pretty much aren’t that many encounters that provide that kind of scenario. When no one is around and/or respawns are too fast, I’m toast.
How can I spec, which utilities can I choose, to give myself some more survivability while still shooting for a power/precision-centric shatter build?
I’ve thought about speccing power/precision then just stacking all toughness on my gear. Right now, I’m all decked out in gear with +power as well as my accessories. I’ve started to slowly replace power jewels with toughness.
The OP is brain dead. I witnessed this morning, on 4 separate occasions, my Phant Zerker was killed before he even rendered into the environment… meaning he never got off his damage… meaning I have to wait for that long cooldown before I can even attempt to pull him out again.
Granted, I’m new to the Mesmser gameplay. My Mesmer is only level 17. However, the proposed nerfs are going to make it harder than it all ready is to level a Mesmer in PvE.
I like my Mesmer. I’m trying to make it my main because the fights seem way more involved and intense on my Mesmer than any other class. I’ve played them all to at least mid 30s, with the exception of Necromancer. I haven’t even tried to create a Necro.
There is a huge disconnect between what’s perceived as what Mesmers can do versus what they can actually do. It’s rather obnoxious.
Conjurer armor is the PvP version. I’m trying to track down the PvE version. Any help would be great.

I submitted a ticket to GW2 support eventhough I guess this is a GW1 issue? Anyway, my support ticket code is: 121005-000007

Where do I submit a ticket? The GW1 support page or is there a GW2 support page. I’m kinda lost here, which is why I was hoping I could just call someone or do a live chat.

I saw some hall of monuments gear that I wanted. I figured I would download GW1, purchase Eye of the North and see about unlocking some stuff for use in GW2.
The problem is that I got the error code 045. Told me to contact support. Live chat is only open on Fridays. Awesome…
In the event that I can’t recover my old account is there a way to link a new GW1 account to my GW2 account?
Edit I guess I should add that I haven’t played Guild Wars 1 since shortly after factions was released. To my knowledge my account has been in good standing.
Thanks. I appreciate the response. That was much easier to get than to go from PvP rank 5 to 20 then farm 40 Dolyak tokens.
I’m gonna get the PvP version eventually but now I can use that sweet helm in PvE.
Anyone know how to get the Rugged chest piece and Shoulder armor? Is it craftable?
The PvP Leather Helm is my favorite. It’s gonna take awhile to hit PvP rank 20 and then a bit longer to get 40 Dolyak tokens.
Is there a PvE Helm that has the same looks?
Also, what crafting level can Leatherworkers make the Rugged Set and what is the level requirement to equip it?
My first character was Thief. I played D/D with Shortbow. Not enough survivablity but I was very much enamored with the frenetic gameplay. I know for a fact that that build was not even close to being over-powered.
I then went and tried every class in the game (with the exception of the darkity dark dark emo Necromancer) to at least level 12. I played most of the classes to the mid 30s. I then went back deleted the characters that I absolutely didn’t want to go back to, after salvaging and depositing ducets and whatnot.
I then start a new Thief and chose a new race. I’ve been using a different build with more survivability and less damage. I feel it’s a solid build but needs more damage.
My point is that the way the game is set up, you can build any class a certain way but none of the classes can be more well rounded then another. They all have their strengths, weakness, and different playstyles.
Some people think Thieves need inherent dodge. It’s not the case. We have it built into the class via traits. The caveat is that you have to actively use your endurance to dodge while traiting for endurance regen/refund/ect.
Granted, some Thief builds are over the top because of one or two skills stacking too much front end due to min maxing. However, the min/max builds all have glaring holes that can be exploited. I know this sounds like a TL:DR Learn2play… and it is… sort of.
I think combat in GW2 is more cerebral insofar as the meta is concerned. You’ve got to get inside your opponents head insofar as their build is concerned. The discconnect comes from the fact that every other game on the market has very specific pigeon holed builds. GW2 has them too but it’s robust enough to allow a lot of creativity in your skill selection and trait choices.
This makes for a game where you can’t really nail down “hard counters”. You can’t make broad generalizations about any of the classes. You’ve got to address individual skills and the traits that augment/buff them.
What head piece and shoulders are you using? I mainly want to know which head piece that is. Is it Drakescale? If so Drakescale looks a lot better on an Asura than it does on a Human.
