I see what you’re all saying (except Spurnshadow because the problem isn’t character slots and banks tabs for this specific forum post) and I personally don’t care if the core game is included or not, but I just wanted the view of the new players to be heard as such and not just the vets.
Cause I feel the expansion is worth the 50+ regardless and depending on how it goes will determine how I feel about future expansions. I just think there needs to more communication about this kind of thing for Anet, old players, and the new.
Hello all!
So as most know there has been quite the controversy over the pre-purchase details of Heart of Thorns. I understand what Anet is trying to do with the pre-purchase and helping new players experience the core and expansion games, but I also get what the Guild Wars Vets are saying. I myself, pre-ordered gw2 back before it came out and have played it since, being loyal and love it.
I have already obtained my spot in HoT because I would pay the price even without the core game included because I feel I can rely on the content being worth it. Though, as a vet I’m like “So even though I bought the core game a long time ago I don’t get like a small discount or extra items or something?”, but it doesn’t bother me that much.
The point of this article is to not express opinions by a vet for other vets, but as a vet for new players. I have some friends who have recently bought the core game after hearing about the expansion and have grown to love the game since then while waiting for HoT. I think those new players who got attracted by HoT and got the game early now have to pay for both. And I know that some of those people got the discounted core game for like $10, but some didn’t and bought it for the normal 40 or 50 (can’t remember exact).
So my solution is that people who bought the game for normal or discount price since HoT announcement (or at least 2 to 3 months back when more info was around) should get a bigger discount because it was HoT that brought them here and it sucks that if they waited a couple months to play a game that excited them, they would have had an unknown advantage. Though best case scenario would be that vets get this boost too.
Thanks for listening!! And let’s try to be civil here fellow players!
~Also this is just me, but I was really hoping for some sort of real world item like a revenant Rytlock figure from one of the pre-purchases because I didn’t get the figure when the core game came out and now I wish I had something to remember gw2 when it slows down or if I can’t play as much as I wished, but I don’t want to get any of the current figures out there. So maybe that’s my fault, but just wanted to throw that out there
Ah I see. Thank you!
Please note, I didn’t mean to imply that I have any real facts on this. My guess would be that if anything notable did change, it would be based on the response from the first event with this map.
Yeah I know. I just wanted to have an idea of what to expect when I go in
Ah I see. Thank you!
I just want to know if anything has changed since the last Stronghold beta. I really enjoy the game type and I’m looking forward to the beta, but it would be nice to have a list of changes. Is there somewhere they have been stated or might we get them closer to the beta?
Hello all, I’ve realized recently that we might have an even harder time in HoT when we first start out besides just dealing with Mordy.
In the very nice cut-scene we saw at the end of S2 we witnessed the pact fly over the Maguuma Jungle. We heard Trahearne yell “Fire!” and a barrage of cannon fire rains down on the forest. From what I can tell Mordy wasn’t the only one with presence in those trees. Other species like the Itzel may have been hit with our fire and may be upset with us for wrongfully attacking them.
This makes sense because of the Mastery system. In some cases with the lore mastery we can’t even trade with the races until we can communicate with them, but some masteries say once we gain their trust we gain access to their secret areas for rewards. This is exciting because we’ll really have to interact with the new races to get anywhere with them because we didn’t get off to the right start which can create an even deeper and rich story for us when we enter the jungle!
Hey everyone! So I’ve been a player of GW2 since launch and I have to say it’s my most frequently played and favorite game. Ever since the announcement of HoT I’ve been hearing a lot about how amazing the GW2 community is more and more. I’ve always know this myself, but hearing all this really makes me feel pride for being a part of it. So I had this idea of a way to acknowledge individuals who shine via a sort of Of the Week/Month Award (OtW/MA).
This award would be given the following way (roughly). When someone sees another individual shining in the community from helping others with bosses, jumping puzzles, and many other examples they can go into an in-game or forum based (or other) system where they can state the players name, write a description of their good deeds, and nominate them for this award. Then at the end of the week/month those nominees will be randomly selected (around 10) and those players will receive in-game mail acknowledging them with maybe a small reward like a little xp booster or even (Better yet!) a thing of Karma for being good citizens.
I just think this is a neat idea and maybe one day this could be a thing.
Thanks everyone and keep on being great!
Thanks so much!!
Hey, so I was wondering if I could change my email for my account. I don’t use the email I have for my account any more and would like to move it to my new one, but when I go to edit account all I see is “change password” and I can’t for the life of me find a way to change email. If there’s a way I would appreciate the help. Thanks!
Yeah mine did as well just off to the side in the lower right hand of the corner view. My mini was holo scarlet sooo…. awkward
