You wonder why would they remove glory to screw you for a month so they don’t mess up the “Gold” economy?

You wonder why they never ban skyham farmer but anyone who did similar things in Pve they get deal with directly?
You wonder why they let all PvE players use Legendary and all kinds of awesome Skin on PvP after patch while true hardcore PvP players don’t even have much gold to begin with?
You want to know why?
Because PvE > WvW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>PvP.
They made glory gone, pvp mats gone, rank become useless and meaningless…
The only thing for Anet to do to make this right would be rewarding every tournament win from launch to patch 50s. I don’t think giving the most hardcore pvp player 3k gold is too much, if you fear about inflation, make it a 10g chest pops everyday. I don’t think they mind opening that chest for a year to get their 3k gold either.
The blog says that we should craft all our PvP crafting components into items.
How do we do this now that glory has been removed and the final components can’t be purchased anymore? Is there some temporary way to obtain item tokens so I can finish crafting my leftover materials?
Please answer this as well. I can’t imagine the hundreds of thousands of PvP mats that will just wash away because people have no means to use them because they don’t have the gear or consumable tokens.
Please Answer this, I have 6k powder, 1k orb, 500 silver and 1k more token but 0 Glory because You told us to open all the chest and I used them all to buy salvage kit.
And then you tell me now you can use copper to buy salvage kit, but its too late, we dont have any glory left to buy consumable tokens.
At least let us buy consumable tokens for with gold so we can get some dye from that pile of junk. So I feel better for supporting tpvp the past year.
While I agree it’s an improvement I also agree with some people on this thread that that artificial wall we will all reach sooner or later is a bit silly. Wouldn’t it be much better and very easy to implement a hard cap to max AP you can get each day from daily?
Something like 5 daily tasks to get the daily reward and 8 AP from daily per day rings right to me.
And similarly, max 60 AP from monthly per month.
Anet should do this instead.
Some daily achievement require much more work compare to the others.
Like Daily Five Solo Queue wins. It takes much more time and effort to complete but now it worth the same as remove 20 condition because of the Hard cap.

Yea, these guys here don’t know what they are talking about.
My whole guild is full of pvpers, they just LOVE Tpvp, every solo queue game is so balanced without leavers which put other games like League or Dota2 to shame.
Everyone is so nice and helpful, willing to teach other’s builds and tricks so we don’t even need a spectator mode.
On top of that, the reward is so great, look at the golds, the chest, and the ranks I gain from one Pvp Game! Holy Moly 30s! WoooHooo…with that instant queue time I could make a living from playing this game then sell gold to those gold sellers!
Esport here we go! It’s happening!

Anyways I wanted to ask about the saved match win reward chests… As far as I can remember players were told to save their chests for the future. Is this still the status quo? or has something come to light that I may have missed?

I suggest to open all your chests, don’t just leave them unopened as they will be deleted. Either way, don’t be too alarmed because tons of new rewards are coming. Even PvP specific ones!
This is the part I dont understand, they are coming, they are not here. Why would you remove the existing reward before they come? Consider how long it takes for Anet to get anything to “come” to pvp, this is just disappointment on how stupid Anet plan their patches for pvp.
Imagine if Anet remove karma in Pve world and replace it with nothing but “Soon”. I ensure kitten storm will rise.
You see, the logical thing to do before removed an existing reward, is to create a new reward first to replace it.
But as you may have notice by now, Anet doesnt work with logic, so…. they remove your glory, and your chest and now you can wait in the dust for the hype soon be great pvp patch coming to you.
And god knows how long till they put REAL reward in pvp,

Yes, I did say that. I also said in that post that we are investigating ways that we can get proper metrics to reflect the majority of the playerbase. If you knew the amount of players that actually played PvP in our game, then you would understand why a strawpoll with 300 votes is not sufficient.
That’s not to say that we don’t talk about it internally. We talk about it quite a lot.
If the issue was as simple as me making a strawpoll, I’d do it; but it’s not. A very, very small percentage of our playerbase even visit these forums, let alone vote on a poll.
That is not how statistics work. I really am starting to wonder if actual mathematics is used at all in design decisions. No offense to you Allie; it’s not your job to know the math. I just dislike the perpetuation of the misconception of sample size and population. I also dislike how some of the “math” (in regards to loot and luck) in this game doesn’t make any sense.
Yes, there are reasons why the strawpoll can be called into question. Population size is not one of them.
The mathematics of probability proves the size of the population is irrelevant unless the size of the sample exceeds a few percent of the total population you are examining. This means that a sample of 500 people is equally useful in examining the opinions of a state of 15,000,000 as it would a city of 100,000.
I thought this is basic statistics…..obvious not so much for anet.
